What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

A stand-up comedy show that’s also a jaw-dropping true story about love, life, fame and therapy with sections that could seriously save your life.

EURYDICE’S MEMORY TO BE HONOURED WITH GRANT

AUSSIE COMEDIANS TO SEE THIS YEAR

Tell us what you’ve been up to since last time you were here.

Since my last show That’s a Fun Fact in 2017, I diversified into theatre and film, taking a version of that show That’s A Fact That’s Not Fun to the Holden Street Theatre in Adelaide to great critical success.

I also co-wrote a short film that picked up six awards on the film festival circuit.

As well as this I’ve taken this show to Adelaide and Edinburgh to rave reviews.

Spruik it! Who should see your show, and why?

It’s a bold step into stand-up storytelling with a unique true tale that is both hilarious and shocking.

Having worked with several world class directors and comedy practitioners, I have managed to craft something funny, moving and potentially life saving.

What’s your No. 1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Turn up on time.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

Not even had time to look but with the last two weeks off I’ll be gorging myself on fabulous comedy shows around Easter.

What stands out to you about Melbourne?

I love Melbourne, the most European city in Australia in terms of culture and, sadly, weather.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

Billy Connolly, Al Murray, Harry Hill … for helping shape what I do.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?

It’s a must-see for anyone who enjoys weather in all it’s variety … colour, light and sunshine. There’s a big, old section about therapy that is a must-see for anyone who has been in therapy and especially for anyone who thought it might not be for them.

Gordon Southern, A Man For Two Seasons, MARCH 27-APRIL 8, Elephant and Wheelbarrow, BOURKE ST. BOOK TICKETS.
