You’d be nuts to miss comedian Felicity Ward, who is returning to the comedy festival with more laughs than ever.
Comedian Q&A
Don't miss out on the headlines from Comedian Q&A. Followed categories will be added to My News.
What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?
Pyrotechnics, acrobatics, a live tiger, one single joke, a Saudi prince and gravy.
What have you been up to since last time you were here?
I haven’t been out to MICF for three years! How are you guys?
Last time I checked, Melbourne has made all of its inner city speed limits 40km an hour so it feels like you’re doing a drive-by every time you go anywhere.
Can you please sort that out when I get back? Ta babes.
Me? Oh, thanks for asking. I’ve been living in the UK for the past six years so I’ve basically just been trawling the Kmart website and dreaming of lorikeets in an attempt to keep up with Australian trends.
Who should see your show, and why?
Everyone. Because I’m flying 24 hours on a plane to do it.
Guilt: that’s a good reason to see my show, right?
What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?
Go with a spirit of actively and enthusiastically being ready to laugh. Don’t go to be ‘impressed’.
Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?
Lazy Susan — I saw their show in London and it has the funniest single physical gag I’ve ever seen.
I will pay money to watch the whole show (which is also incredible and hilarious) just for that one joke.
What do you love about Melbourne?
I lived in Melbourne for five years, so I’m basically coming back for the brunch, dude.
Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?
If I can be as funny as any single person in my family I’ll be doing my job.
On my last trip to Aus my sister was reading out the ingredients of these yeast flakes and she cheered on the vitamin B12. Who barracks for food?
Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?
Nah, just come and laugh and it’ll be heaps good.
