Adding insult to injury, with more than a few regrets, is all part of the fun when The Sorry Boys take the stage.

What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

A heartfelt apology and then fast-paced sketch comedy that finds fun in everything from Goldilocks and The Three Bears to a Zombie Apocalypse.

Tell us what you’ve been up to since last time you were here.

COMEDIANS WHO HAVE WON BIG INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

COMEDY LEGENDS WITH BRAND NEW SHOWS THIS YEAR

Touring New Zealand and performing regularly in Sydney.

We kicked off The Sorry Boys in Sydney Fringe last year and had a ball.

We can’t wait to bring it to MICF.

Spruik it! Who should see your show, and why?

Look, we are sorry to say this, but: The planet is a dumpster fire, not just in terms of it’s relative temperature, but also metaphorically. Again, I’m sorry to say it.

This show is a joyful oasis, we’re gonna have some fun and that’s it. No politics. No stockpiling canned goods. No making fun of Geordie Shore, actually, scratch that last one. We do make fun of Geordie Shore.

What’s your No. 1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Always wear thongs in public showers, and go see someone you don’t know.

The next generation of Aussie comedians is out there in weird spaces doing weird things.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

We are obsessed with James Acaster and Maria Bamford.

They’re both comedy geniuses and their shows on Netflix are all we think about.

Otherwise, there’s a bunch of great acts in the festival.

At our venue we have a bunch of our friends in some great shows: Clare Cavanagh, Ed Chalmers and Darcy Fleming, Flat Pack, HillnDale & The LD50’s and Medicated Panic Dream Girls (check out their Facebook for some on-point memes).

What stands out to you about Melbourne?

I love Melbourne. The Hoddle Grid is a gift from God.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

James Acaster and Maria Bamford (who are here this festival) are our spirit animals. They’re both fearlessly absurd and strange. So good.
