What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

A sticky, sweet showcase of some of the festival’s best comics.

BRITISH AND IRISH COMEDIANS TO SEE THIS YEAR

TOP COMICS REVEAL THEIR FAVOURITE COMEDIANS

If you’re new to MICF, tell us about you.

Comedy Women’s Association is a year-round buffet bringing some of your long-standing favourites with some new flavours to excite you. Like a Cadbury Favourites box with a chilli, salted caramel twist.

Spruik it! Who should see your show, and why?

Anyone who needs a taste-test of a show before they buy tickets. Anyone who isn’t sure who to see and is afraid to ask. Anyone who is free at 6pm and wants a giggle.

What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

See unknown acts before the big names. Buy your tickets to Fiona, Judith, Wil and Dave then come to a showcase like ours and pick an act to see as well. Support live comedy and see the ‘next big thing’.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

Jokemaid’s Tale, Breast of the Fest, Sweet Potatoes, Judith Lucy vs Men, Eve Ellenbogan’s Too Much, Improv Attacks Humanity, Bella Green is Charging For it, and so many more — too many to list here, we don’t play favourites.

We would have recommended the Granny Bingo Ladies, but they joined a different CWA and we don’t want to talk about it.

What stands out to you about Melbourne?

As the Comedy Women’s Association we are a long-standing part of the Melbourne comedy community.

Like all good Melburnians we wear black and drink coffee.

But we also have scones, and home made jam, and can direct you to the right tram at the end of the night.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

We are huge fans of Nigella, Two Fat Ladies, Maggie Beer, Stephanie Alexander and Curtis Stone; oh wait, what was the question?

Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?

We’ve booked an amazing line-up for you this festival. We’ve got some of our famous friends dropping in and the best of our regulars showing off their favorite bits. Plus, we always have snacks at the end (like all good CWA get togethers).

CAILI CHRISTIAN, COMEDY WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION PRESENTS, MARCH 27-APRIL 7, THE TICKLE PIT AT ROZZI’S, 157 SWANSTON ST. BOOK TICKETS.
