On the eve of the 33rd Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Herald Sun has rounded up a motley crew of Aussie comedians.
For almost a third of a century, the MICF has continued to boast a line-up of international, local and emerging talent to tickle the funny bone of our city and plenty of mischief ensued when the “unusual suspects” comprising Jimeoin, Tahir, Akmal, Rose Callaghan and Nikki Osborne settled into their mugshot moment.
Fresh from the South African jungle after starring in I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here, Tahir said he was looking forward to the festival.
BEHIND THE SCENES WITH BIGGEST COMEDIANS
“I lost 8kg in the jungle and I plan to put it all back on while I’m in Melbourne,” he joked.
“My show is called You Had One Job, and is basically about humans, mostly men, stuffing things up.”
The man with the best brows in the business, Jimeoin, also returns with more observational humour in his show Result, but was coy when it came to criminal activity.
“I think (my past) goes beyond naughty to criminal offence — fine line, really,” he said.
“But I never got caught so let’s keep it that way.”
Nikki Osborne, who’s show Bad Barbie is filled with controversy and costume changes, says she is no stranger to naughty behaviour.
“My whole show is basically just Barbie gone rogue,” she said with a laugh.
