Hughesy’s latest work, The Snorkeler, centres around some fairly blue material.
“My mates growing up were surfers and I was a snorkeler and, well, I didn’t get as much attention,” Hughes said.
“My five-year-old said, ‘Dad, you should have been a surfer, not a snorkeler’, and my six-year-old said, ‘Dad, you’re a loser’.
“I couldn’t really explain it to them.”
