★★★★1/2: Joel Creasey shines in Drink Slay Repeat — but fans need to learn some manners

He’s known as the crown prince of Australian comedy, the campest comic in the village, but really he’s just a naughty boy.
Drink Slay Repeat is Joel Creasey’s 10th show at the festival (his first was as an 18-year-old kid fresh from Perth) and, fortified by a colourful multimedia career, he has evolved into a genuine master of the art.
Creasey knows his audience, so sit back, relax and enjoy the rapid-fire anecdotes as he dishes the dirt.

Who needs deep and meaningful, as Creasey shamelessly harvests vignettes from his (mis)adventures from the past year.
From Eurovision to mardi gras to his Nan’s funeral, it’s a riot.
Not sure his supermodel boyfriend Jack Stratton-Smith will be happy with their personal life being laid bare but hey that’s just it, nothing is off limits.
And his account of meeting Meghan Markle at Government House last year is probably worth the admission price alone.
Creasey promises to bitch about anyone not in the room, yet the show still comes across with surprising warmth.
He is a genuinely likeable stand-up pro.
The show is rich in content and energy, and his tales will make you gasp at times and then guffaw like an idiot.
What a star. But he already knows that.
Finally though, a couple of points about audience etiquette.
One, what’s with the woman who kept scrolling though her Instagram feed during the Creasey show? What the actual …?
And people, you are not sitting on your sofa, Gogglebox-style, so you do not need the chat through the performance.
