Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon share loving Instagram post while on holiday in Barcelona

Singer-turned-swimmer Cody Simpson and Olympic hero Emma McKeon have been dubbed an “iconic Aussie duo” after going public with their romance.

Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon are making a splash with their budding romance in Barcelona, Spain.

The singer turned swimmer and the queen of the pool are now “insta-official” after Simpson posted pictures of them smiling and holding hands in a picturesque street.

“A brief rendezvous in Barcelona with my love, Emma,’’ Simpson captioned the post.

The pair, dubbed by some fans as an “iconic Aussie duo”, have been dating for a few months after connecting while under the guidance of the same coach, Michael Bohl.

They are with the Australian team in Barcelona training for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Last month Simpon and McKeon made their public debut walking the red carpet at the Elvis movie premiere on the Gold Coast.

Simpson, 25, who has previously dated supermodel Gigi Hadid and Miley Cyrus, is working towards his dream of competing at the Paris Olympics in 2024 while McKeon, 28, who made history with a seven medal haul in Tokyo is looking to capitalise on her dominance.

They were at the centre of a “love triangle” when it was claimed McKeon’s ex Kyle Chalmers deliberately bumped Simpson out of World Championship eligibility following the Australian Championships in Adelaide.

Chalmers disputed that, saying he had always planned to compete in the 100m butterfly.

The Commonwealth Games begin on July 28.
