He tried blending into the public procession along Melbourne’s riverwalk on Sunday.
But even in jeans, white T-shirt and aviator shades, Chris Hemsworth looked every bit the Hollywood movie star as he wife Elsa Pataky, their three children, and his brother Luke took in the city sights, including a stop at the Melbourne Aquarium.
A few nights earlier, the happy Hemsworths saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
While Chris’s 2019 movie credits include Men In Black: International and Avengers: Endgame, the Byron Bay-based superstar has, for the most part, taken the year off to be with family.
“I just want to be at home now with my kids,” he told the Herald Sun earlier this year.
“They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”
Hemsworth had previously revealed he finds it difficult to leave his young children behind to film overseas.

Hemsworth added: “She doesn’t always call me Papa, either.”
Chris, Luke, and their brother Liam, also an actor, grew up in Phillip Island.
Luke’s credits include the HBO drama Westworld.
