‘Kicking up a fuss’: Uproar over King Charles III’s major coronation snub

King Charles III is making major changes to the coronation guest list in a break from the late Queen’s royal tradition, leaving Britain’s high society ‘kicking up a fuss’.

The Lords and Ladies of Britain’s high society are not amused after reports emerged King Charles III would un-invite a large majority of UK’s parliament to the coronation.

In a major break from royal tradition last observed by the late Queen in 1953, only a minority of the House or Lords will reportedly attend the pomp and ceremony of the grand event.

The decision has left “peers in uproar”, with several beginning a “significant amount of lobbying” the Cabinet Office that they have a right to attend, according to the UK’s Telegraph.

The Cabinet Office has final say on which peers and Members of parliament will be cut from the guest list, with government sources telling the Telegraph that most will be disappointed and they expect dissent.

“People are proactively contacting us, setting out why they should be on the list. There is no doubt they will be disappointed and we are aware of the frustration this is already generating,” the insider said.

The event is expected to be considerably smaller that the Queen’s coronation 70 years ago, when scaffolding was installed around Westminster Abbey to seat larger crowds.

One peer feared attendance will be a “lottery”, leaving those who feel entitled to be “kicking up a fuss”.

“The King is obviously trying to cut down a little on costs and scale but there will be a significant backlash in some quarters,” they said.

TOM CRUISE TO ATTEND CORONATION

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has reportedly halted filming on the eight instalment of his hit move franchise, Mission Impossible, to attend King Charles III’s coronation.

Cruise was invited to the new King’s coronation on May 6 and there is “no way he would have ever turned it down”, according to The Sun, citing an “insider”.

According to the source, Cruise is a “real royalist” and has become close with Prince William and his wife, Kate, reportedly giving the couple a world-first advanced screening of Top Gun: Maverick last March.

The trio attended the London premiere two months later.

Despite Cruise’s dedication to his craft, the insider said he wouldn’t miss this “hugely prestigious event”.

“Tom has told film bosses to shut down the production on Mission: Impossible over the coronation weekend to make sure he can attend,” the source told the publication.

“It shocked some people on the film, as Tom is so dedicated to his craft and would never normally deviate from his intense production schedules.

“But something as important – and grand – as King Charles’ coronation is something he would not want to miss out on.

“It is a huge thing for Tom to be invited and he is honoured.”

PRINCE HARRY HINTS AT RETURN TO THE UK

Prince Harry has hinted at returning to the UK in a new video for children's charity WellChild, despite months of tensions with the royal family following his bombshell memoir.

The Duke of Sussex paid tribute to carers and nurses amid the cost-of-living crisis as he urged people to nominate loved ones for a WellChild award.

Dressed in a casual white button-down shirt, the father-of-two said in the 90-second clip he has been “immensely grateful” for the work the charity has done to provide support for seriously ill children and their families in the UK.

The 38-year-old has been a patron of the UK-based charity for the past 15 years.

“For children and people with complex medical needs, WellChild provides access to high quality care services and the opportunity to thrive at home alongside their families,” he said.

“WellChild also provides a network of support for families who are facing countless medical, logistical and mental health challenges; compounded by a cost of living crisis that adds tremendous pressure in caring for the children who are dependent on lifesaving equipment.

“I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the carers and health professionals, doctors, nurses, teachers and play specialists and many many more who are part of the WellChild family as well.”

Prince Harry also spoke about the cost-of-living crisis and ended the video by urging viewers to nominate “someone in their lives who they find inspiring’” for a WellChild Award, with the ceremony due to be held later this year.

“Each year, I so look forward to meeting with the award winners and spreading awareness about this incredible charity,” he said.

“I hope this year you’ll join me and get involved.”

The charity then captioned the video: “Our Patron Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, joins the call for nominations for the 2023 WellChildAwards in association with GSK.

“Each year, we celebrate the UK’s inspirational seriously ill children, young people & those who care for them.”

GRAMMYS HOST MOCKS PRINCE HARRY’S ‘FROSTBITTEN PENIS’

Trevor Noah took his role as host of the 2023 Grammy Awards as an opportunity to poke some jaw-dropping fun at Prince Harry.

Noah, 38, referenced a revealing part of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir Spare while introducing James Corden, 44, as a presenter.

“James Corden is a 12-time Emmy winner and host of ‘The Late Late Show,’ ” the comedian said, while sitting next to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck — who looked “miserable” during the ceremony.

“He’s also living proof that a man can move from London to LA and not tell everyone about his frostbitten penis,” the comedian continued.

Harry, 38, wrote in his book that he suffered a frostbitten “todger” during a 2011 North Pole trip.

“Upon arriving home I’d been horrified to discover that my nether regions were frost nipped,” the royal wrote.

Prince Harry also recalled applying Elizabeth Arden cream to soothe the freezer-burned phallus that was “oscillating between extremely sensitive and borderline traumatised.”

After a friend recommended the ointment as a home remedy, the royal remembered that Princess Diana had used the same cream for her lips.

“I found the tube and the minute that I opened it, the smell transported me through time,” he says in the book. “It felt as if my mother was right there in the room, and I took a smidge and applied it down there.”
