The Queen’s Jubilee was thrown into “absolute chaos” when Tom Cruise threw out the royal rule book during the celebration event.

The Top Gun star was among several celebrities featured in the TV special to mark the Queen’s 70th anniversary on the throne, “A Gallop Through History”.

The program’s presenter, Phillip Schofield, who interviewed Cruise live for the event, revealed that the actor’s entrance sparked a massive commotion among police and fans.

“He caused absolute chaos in Windsor because he decided to walk to the studio,” Schofield said during his appearance on Monday’s This Morning program.

Rather than being driven from Windsor to Home Park, Cruise took a stroll through the historic UK town.

“So the police then obviously had to do serious crowd control at the drop of a hat, but he met everybody.”

Mr Phillip added Cruise was a “class act” during his part in the TV special, which also included stars such as Helen Mirren,

“When he did our interview he then went downstairs and met everybody, went into rooms to meet people and made proper eye contact,” he said

The Queen was all smiles during the Platinum Jubilee celebration at Windsor Castle following weeks of ill health and problems with mobility.

The 96-year-old was seen using a walking stick to make her way to the royal box at the show, which was held near her residence at Windsor Castle.

Speaking to ITV before the Jubilee celebration event, Cruise said the Queen was someone who he “greatly admires”.

“I think she is someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion,” he said.

“What she has accomplished has been historic.

“She has met presidents, world leaders, people from all walks of life.

“Not just Americans, but the world knows the dignity, devotion and kindness, that is what I have always felt about her.

“Someone that understands her position and has held it through a history that’s just been extraordinary the past 70 years.”
