‘Suffered a lot’: Close friend reveals fears for Prince Harry

A friend of the Duke of Sussex has linked his Canada move to the tragic death of Princess Diana as Harry and Meghan back a charity campaign for the first time since stepping down as senior royals.

How will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fund their new life?

One of Prince Harry’s closest friends has said the Duke of Sussex has “suffered a lot” and made the move to Canada to “protect” his wife Meghan and baby son Archie.

Argentinian polo player and model Nacho Figueras has told Good Morning America he spoke to the Duke of Sussex just days ago and that Harry was now just trying to live a normal life.

“He wants to live a normal life, as normal as his life is going to be. When you have 1,000 paparazzi outside your house in Canada waiting to get one picture of your son, that’s not normal,” Figueras said.

“He’s protecting his family, he’s protecting his wife and his child.”

Figueras linked Harry’s shock move to Canada to the tragic death in 1997 of his mother, Princess Diana.

“He was the son of someone who suffered attacks from the press and it’s undeniable. He doesn’t want for that to happen for his family.”

The Ralph Lauren model said Harry had become a man “his mother would be proud of”.

His comments came as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex lent their support to a charity campaign for the first time since stepping down as senior royals.

The campaign shows people from around the world holding up signs with positive messages on them.

Sharing pictures of people taking part in the annual #Bellletstalk Day, Meghan and Harry wrote: “We are so happy to be supporting Bell’s mental health campaign.”

“Each time you watch bell_letstalk official video on Instagram, Bell will donate 5 cents towards Canadian mental health initiatives. So please share, please talk and be part of the solution.” They completed the note with a Canadian flag.

Harry and Meghan’s show of support for the Canadian initiative is the latest sign that they are putting down roots in the North American country.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal duties, dropped their HRH titles and were stripped of some roles when the Queen decided they could not be half in, half out of the royal family.

They are now plotting their new life in Canada with plans to become financially independent, likely through deals with Netflix and other media companies.
