CHANNEL 9 presenter Sonia Kruger has lashed out at New Idea, accusing them of making up a cover story that bore the question “what happened to her face?”
The magazine published pictures of the Mornings co-host on holiday in Hawaii and suggested her “surprisingly inflamed red face gave the impression that she may have dabbled” in cosmetic surgery.
“No one could blame the popular star for craving a little holiday freshen-up before she starts work on the new season of Big Brother,” the article said.
They added that Kruger had “perhaps [had] a little cosmetic intervention” and “definitely didn’t look her usual self.”
The magazine quoted a cosmetic surgeon who suggested she had possibly had laser resurfacing, a chemical peel or strong IPL (intense pulse light) treatment.
But Kruger was furious when she saw the headline on the cover of the mag alongside her make-up free face and posted a picture of it on her Instagram and Twitter accounts.
“50k for this pic,” she wrote, alleging that the magazine had paid big bucks for the image.
“What happened to my face? I went out in the sun. Story made up. Great use of Seven shareholder’s money ... said no one ever. #whynotcallandcheck?
The pictures were taken while Kruger, who turns 49 in a few weeks, was on holiday with her partner of five years, Craig McPherson — and it must be said, she looked incredible.
