Royals ‘exhausted’ with Harry and Meghan’s ‘stream of misinformation’

The royal family is reportedly “completely exhausted” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their “stream of misinformation” about the Firm.

Royal family members are “completely exhausted” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their “stream of misinformation” about the palace, according to sources.

The comments come following the Duke of Sussex’s two new TV interviews as he spruiks his new memoir.

Both were teased on Twitter this morning, but the full interviews will be aired just days before Harry’s “explosive” book Spare is published next week.

In trailers for new interviews with UK network ITV and US network CBS set to air on Sunday, Harry trashes his family.

The royal, 38, accused his family of having “shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile” with him.

“It never needed to be this way. The leaking, the planting, I want a family – not an institution,” the father-of-two told ITV journalist Tom Bradby.

“They feel as though it’s better to keep us, somehow, as the villains. They’ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.

“I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.”

A royal insider however told the Mirror that the Prince’s claims feel “very repetitive”.

“Harry’s constant sniping is rather draining and he knows full well it is highly unlikely they will engage in a tit-for-tat battle of words.”

Another source added that the Duke’s claim that his family refused to reconcile with him was “unadulterated nonsense”.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams argued that the Sussexes’ claims about the royal family to the press are not helping the fractured relationship.

“The interview Harry and Meghan gave on Oprah did very considerable damage to the royal family, especially the allegations of racism and issues dealing with Meghan’s mental health,” he told the Daily Mail.

The royal commentator pointed out that over the past month, Harry and Meghan have been milking the media – appearing not only in their bombshell Netflix docuseries but also seven trailers.

The clips include five teasers to promote Harry & Meghan and the two that have been dropped this week for Harry’s upcoming interviews with ITV and CBS.

“The first [teaser for Harry & Meghan] overshadowed the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ trip to Boston which was outrageous,” Fitzwilliams said.

“This resembles a publicity circus which looks rather desperate.

“Harry might like to ‘get his brother back’ and … ‘his father back’, but must surely know giving this catalogue of woes even more exposure is not the way to do so.

“Further accusations of stories being planted against them by the palace in both interviews show how bitter he and Meghan still are. But, though their fans may support it, there will come a time when even the media tire of exposure at this level.”

While speaking about his strained relationship with his family, Harry told ITV’s Bradby that he wants “a family, not an institution”.

During his interview with CBS for US 60 Minutes, Harry told Anderson Cooper: “Every single time I have tried to do it privately, there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife.

“The family motto is ‘never complain never explain’. But it’s just a motto. It doesn’t really hold. There’s endless [complaining and explaining] through leaks.

“They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent and that correspondent will be spoonfed information and write the story.

“Then at the bottom of it they will say that they have reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. But the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting.

“So when we are being told for the last six years we can’t put a statement out to protect you, but you do it for the rest of the family, there becomes a point when silence is betrayal.”

Harry has done a series of publicity-boosting interviews since he quit life as a working royal.

He reportedly had been in talks with several major US networks about further TV talks.

Last year, he and Meghan sat down with chat show host Oprah Winfrey in an explosive tell-all.

Then a month later Prince Harry spoke on NBC, when he claimed he wanted to ensure the “right people” were around the Queen to “protect” her.

Last month, his Netflix documentary aired. The Duke accused his father King Charles of lying during crisis Megxit talks as the late Queen Elizabeth II sat and listened.

Harry also alleged his brother William “screamed and shouted” at him at the Sandringham Summit after he revealed they wanted to quit the firm.

Spare will hit shelves on January 10.
