Royal baby: Prince William says third baby with Kate Middleton is ‘very good news’

PRINCE William has appeared in public for the first time since new broke that he and his wife are expecting their third child.
He admitted there is “not much sleep” going on at home and said the new baby is “very good news”.
The Sun reports that his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, remains at Kensington Palace suffering from severe morning sickness, the Duke of Cambridge, 35, was seen arriving at the National Mental Health and Policing Conference.
His 35-year-old wife was confirmed as pregnant yesterday and being cared for at home.
The Duchess is understood to be less than 12 weeks pregnant but Kensington Palace announced the news early after she was forced to cancel royal engagements yesterday as she suffered with severe morning sickness once again.
He was congratulated on the news by chairman of Oxfordshire County Council Zoe Patrick, and replied: “Thank you, it’s very good news.”
He added they had been able to “start celebrating this week” after “it was a bit anxious to start with”.
The news was announced in an official statement yesterday, which added the Queen is “delighted”.
“We just need Catherine to get over this first bit, then we can start celebrating next week.”
His words appear to confirm that Kate is further along in her pregnancy than first thought.
As Kate is not thought to be more than 12 weeks pregnant, this means the newest addition is not expected to be born earlier than March 2018.
Though William appeared to initially give nothing away as he arrived at the conference in Oxford this morning, but he seemed to have a hint of a smile on his face before he spoke about the news later on.
The royal pair already have two children, four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte.
The palace statement said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announced that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.
“The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
“As with her previous pregnancies, the Duchess is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.
“Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today.
“The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
Kate joked with William just two months ago about having more children when they visited Poland in July.
The Sun’s Royal Correspondent Emily Andrews appeared on UK TV show Lorraine and said she thinks Kate is about six or seven weeks pregnant.
She also spilt the beans on possible baby names — with the favourites thought to be Alice or Victoria for a girl, and Albert or Arthur for a boy.
However it is thought that the royal parents will choose not to find out the sex of the new addition ahead of the birth, as they want it to be a surprise.
The birth is expected for next April — with the world waiting to find out if the next royal baby with be a prince or a princess.
Yesterday morning Prince Harry was asked how he was feeling about becoming an uncle again, and said: “Fantastic, great, very, very happy for them.”
He added he had not seen his sister-in-law for a while but that she was “OK”.
William is today attending a conference focusing on mental health — a subject he, his wife and brother are passionate about.
He will give a speech at the event, before meeting professionals directly affected.
