A UK reality star is facing legal action after she stole a racy snap from a model, photoshopped it and attempted to pass it off as herself.
Lauren Goodger, who is best known for her appearance on hit UK reality show The Only Way Is Essex, posted a saucy ‘belfie’ or ‘butt selfie’ on Instagram last week.
But the 28-year-old quickly deleted the image after fans called her out on it, pointing out that it looked identical to a shot previously posted by 27-year-old model Carmen Ortega.
Goodger stole the photograph from Ortega’s Instagram account, applied a filter to lighten it up and widened the waist to make it resemble her fuller figure.
She then posted it on her own account with the caption “Nightmare wife”.
“Lauren Goodger posted a pic of her bottom and then took it down because, get this, IT ISN’T EVEN HER BOTTOM,” wrote Heat magazine.
“Yes, she reportedly borrowed another woman’s arse.”
Ortega told The Sun she was very upset about having her image stolen and planned to take legal action if Goodger didn’t apologise.
“We’ve never even met and now this could end up in court,” she told the UK newspaper.
“I am speaking with my attorney. I have already offered her the chance to publicly apologise, but she won’t.”
She added that it was “absolutely not OK” for anyone to steal or alter picture of a body that she has worked hard for to further her career.
Goodger was hammered by her Twitter followers after similarities were drawn between the two bums, with one angrily saying: ‘’So this is the latest low from Lauren Goodger... lauren has stolen the pic airbrushed it to make it look like her ass added a filter and then bam posted it to instagram claiming its her.”(sic)
Ortega took to Twitter to vent her frustration.
@LaurenGoodger nice try...but try again! An apology would be appropriate, thief. #sadgirl
