Prince Philip’s funeral at Windsor Castle will have a drastically scaled-down guest list due to Britain’s COVID-19 restrictions, which currently allow 30 people to attend funeral services.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he will not attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral to free up space for family members.

Here are the 30 guests most likely to attend the funeral on April 17, according to British media reports.

1. THE QUEEN

The bereaved Queen, married to Prince Philip for over 73 years, has been supported by family members as her beloved husband’s funeral arrangements are being finalised.

2. CHARLES, PRINCE OF WALES

The eldest child of Prince Philip, and heir to the throne, Prince Charles paid a moving tribute to “dear papa”, saying that he and the royal family miss him “enormously”.

3. CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL

The wife of Prince Charles. Sadly, Prince Philip died on April 9, the couple’s 16th wedding anniversary.

4. ANDREW, DUKE OF YORK

The son of the Queen and Prince Philip made a rare public appearance outside a church service on the weekend, speaking on his mother’s behalf. Prince Andrew told reporters that the Queen had described her husband’s death as having left “a huge void in her life”. It was Andrew’s first time in the spotlight since stepping back from royal duties over the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

5. EDWARD, EARL OF WESSEX

The youngest child of the Queen and Prince Philip, Edward reportedly had a very close relationship with his father. He and wife Sophie have thanked the public for their support.

6. SOPHIE, COUNTESS OF WESSEX

Part of the Queen’s small inner circle of female confidantes, Sophie looked tearful as she left Windsor Castle on the weekend, describing the Queen as “amazing”.

7. ANNE, PRINCESS ROYAL

The only daughter of Prince Philip and widely reported to be her father’s favourite child. Princess Anne released a touching tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh, saying “you know it’s going to happen but you are never really ready”.

“My father has been my teacher, my supporter and my critic, but mostly it is his example of a life well lived and service freely given that I most wanted to emulate,” Princess Anne said.

8. VICE-ADMIRAL SIR TIMOTHY LAURENCE

The second husband of Princess Anne, Sir Timothy was equerry to the Queen from 1986 to 1989.

9. PRINCE WILLIAM, DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE

The eldest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, Prince William will walk behind his grandfather’s coffin with his brother, Prince Harry. It will be the first time the brothers have been seen together since the fallout of Harry’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.

11. PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX

The brother of Prince William has touched down in London without his wife Meghan Markle, who was advised by doctors not to fly from the US due to her pregnancy. It will be the first time Harry has seen his family members in person since his controversial Oprah interview, which aired allegations of racism in the royal family.

The son of Princess Anne and her former husband Captain Mark Phillips, Peter Phillips is the eldest grandson of the Queen and Prince Philip. The burly, rugby-loving former Gordonstoun student is said to have been Philip’s favourite grandson.

13. ZARA TINDALL

The daughter of Princess Anne, Zara recently gave birth to her third child, a son named Lucas Philip in honour of her beloved grandfather as well as the father of her husband, Mike Tindall.

14. MIKE TINDALL

The husband of Zara, former rugby star Mike Tindall is not a working royal but recently took part in a royal engagement to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease.

15. PRINCESS BEATRICE

The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Beatrice released just one image from her July 2020 wedding — a socially distanced picture with the Queen and Prince Philip. It would be one of the Duke of Edinburgh’s last public appearances.

16. PRINCESS EUGENIE

The younger daughter of Prince Andrew shared a special bond with Prince Philip, naming her newborn son August Philip Hawke. “I think Grandpa is incredible,” Princess Eugenie said in the documentary Our Queen at Ninety in 2016. “He really is strong and consistent. He’s been there for all these years, and I think he’s the rock, you know, for all of us.”

17. LADY LOUISE WINDSOR

The 17-year-old daughter of Prince Edward was very close to Prince Philip, with the two enjoying carriage driving together. After Philip’s death was announced, Lady Louise took two of Philip’s favourite horses for a carriage ride in Windsor Park in a touching tribute to her grandfather.

Lady Pamela, 91, is the daughter of Philip’s uncle and father figure, Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who was killed by an IRA bomb in 1979. Lady Pamela paid tribute to Philip after his death, saying: “(He was) a unique man in every way. There was nobody quite like him.”
