Prince Harry has expressed his concerns for the other “spares” in the royal family, including Prince William’s three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the Duke of Sussex spoke about his worries for his niece and nephews.

“As I know full well, within my family, if it’s not us,” he said, as he pointed to his chest, “it’s going to be someone else.”

“And though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility.

“I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare. And that hurts, that worries me.”

Harry’s relationship with his older brother has often been characterised as “heir and the spare”, with William heir to the throne when their father, King Charles III, passes away and Harry his spare.

Currently, the Prince of Wales’ firstborn Prince George is second in line to the throne behind his father, while younger siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are third and fourth.

Harry’s concerns for his niece and nephews comes as his bombshell tell-all Spare hit shelves this week.

The Duke was paid an estimated $US40 million for a four-book deal and his first memoir has delved into private behind-the-scenes conversations with his family.

Readers were stunned by his accounts of a fight with William in his kitchen and private conversations with his elder sibling and father.

The Prince documents clashing with William over the Sussexes’ Oprah Winfrey interview and describes how his father begged his sons “please, boys, don’t make my final years a misery”.

Earlier this week, Harry claimed that he wants “reconciliation” talks with his family.

He told ITV’s Tom Bradby: “I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back.”

But he said he would now only speak to them again if it remained private.
