Princess Charlotte sparkled on her first day at school, with a little help from her older brother Prince George.
The four-year-old has joined her brother at school at the exclusive Thomas’s Battersea in south London.
She was pictured holding her mother Catherine’s hand as she walked into school, with Prince William holding Prince George’s hand as they attended together.
The royal parents carried their children’s school bags.
Princess Charlotte was greeted by Helen Haslem, the head of the lower school at Thomas’s, on arrival.
The Duchess of Cambridge said good morning to Ms Haslem and asked “How are you? Did you have a nice summer?” as she looked clearly at home at the her children’s school.
Ms Haslem chatted with the Duchess and then shook Prince George’s hand first.
She then shook the hand of a slightly shy Princess Charlotte who clung close to her mother’s dress before touching her ponytail as the moment dawned on her that she was really starting school.
The little Princess, wearing her cute school uniform, played with her ponytail as they continued on walking into the school.

Princess Charlotte then turned to her right as she noticed a small gathering of photographers and camera crew, who were pooling the footage to prevent a large pack, before she went into the school.

Prince George has been thriving at the $A32,000 a year school and there were suggestions the couple’s youngest child Prince Louis may also go there.
