King Charles was left “displeased” after Princess Anne and Prince Edward held a shooting party with disgraced Prince Andrew, reports claim.
The royal siblings had gathered at Windsor last Saturday, two days before His Majesty’s 74th birthday.
According to The Sun, King Charles was keen to distance himself from the gathering – and was left fuming that Andrew attended, the Mail on Sunday reports.
A source said: “King Charles was said to be displeased that Edward and Anne had been publicly meeting up with Andrew and wanted it made clear that he had not been part of the shoot.
“Anne and Edward had been privately concerned about Andrew and wanted to check on him.
“But Charles’s view is that he should not be in the public eye. His Majesty was not thrilled at all.”
Andrew and the Monarch’s relationship has remained frosty since they had a tense chat about the former’s future within the Firm.
The Duke of York was left “utterly bereft” when told by his brother, then Prince Charles, he would not be welcomed back to royal duties.
He was reportedly left so “blindsided” by the meeting because aides had vowed to “get him back to work” despite his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
His misguided belief continued after he paid a multimillion British pound sum to Virginia Giuffre, who claimed he had sex with her when she was 17.
Andrew vehemently denied the allegations but was still stripped of his patronages and beloved military affiliations.
He is now said to be in “bad shape” and at a loss over how to spend his life.
The royal is often pictured riding alone in Windsor where he lives with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
Andrew is also understood to see his grandchildren and enjoys watching the cricket and golf.
It is understood he will be received by the King at Sandringham for Christmas – Charles’ first as Monarch.
But Andrew will not be included in the Royal Family’s annual walk to St Mary Magdalene Church.
PRINCE ANDREW’S SECRET TRIP TO CHASE NEW ROLE
It comes as Prince Andrew has reportedly visited Bahrain amid claims he is aiming for an unofficial role as intermediary between the West and oil-rich Gulf states in the energy crisis.
The Sun reports that the disgraced Duke of York flew out last week on a billionaire Swiss contact’s jet to be pampered in all-expenses-paid luxury by friends in the kingdom’s royal family.
It was reported recently that Prince Andrew has been eyeing a return to public life through a trade role.
Sources told The Sun he “fancies his chances” of another stint as government special representative for international trade and investment.
Others claimed he was in Bahrain on holiday as a “privately-funded” guest of honour.
The Sun reports that Prince Andrew — who has been ousted from royal life over his links to Jeffrey Epstein — views the Middle East as a safe haven where he could settle.
Before stepping down from royal duties, Prince Andrew was dubbed “Air miles Andy” for using helicopters and planes on official engagements when he could use a train or car.
He has been a regular visitor to Bahrain, The Sun reports, and is a fan of its championship-standard course, The Royal Golf Club.
A source told The Sun: “Prince Andrew no longer has a wide circle of friends but Royal Families do have a habit of sticking together.
“He’s been close to the Bahraini royal family for many years and has always enjoyed his trips to Bahrain.
“There are people there who have been loyal to the Queen’s son and have deep pockets.”
The Sun reports that Prince Andrew flew out on a VistaJets plane, owned by Thomas Flohr, who has links to Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
A source told The Sun: “If Andrew is not wanted in the UK then he can have a home and new life in Bahrain.”
