Pink has opened up about the struggles of modern parenting, revealing the one thing she refuses to allow her daughter to have.

Pink has opened up about banning her young daughter from having access to a phone.

The singer and mum-of-two, 42, recently told Carson Daly on the US Today show that she’s holding out on allowing Willow, 10, to have her own mobile phone, in contrast to many of her classmates.

“There’s a light side and a shadow side to technology in general for adults, as well,” Pink explained.

“For kids, I’m not there yet. I have a 10-year-old who does not have a phone, although she pointed out to me yesterday, ‘You know most of the kids in my class, fifth grade, have a phone’. That doesn’t move my needle. I don’t care.”

However, Pink – whose real name is Alecia Moore – also admitted that she and her motocross racer husband, Carey Hart, are trying to keep open minds when it comes to their kids and technology.

“We can’t be dinosaurs ourselves as parents, we have to sort of embrace it and go with it,” she said.

Pink and Hart, who tied the knot in 2005, also share 5-year-old son, Jameson.

The couple started dating in 2001 after meeting at X Games, an extreme sporting event.

Pink proposed to Hart in 2005 during one of his races, where she held up a sign saying, “Will you marry me?”

When he ignored her, she held up another one, saying, “I’m serious!”

The couple were married in 2006 in Costa Rica, but separated in 2008. The breakdown of their relationship was a prominent theme in Pink’s hit 2008 album, Funhouse. They reconciled a year later and now appear stronger than ever.

Since starting a family, Pink has regularly posted photos of them on social media, but told Ellen DeGeneres in 2019 that she was going to stop doing it due to “hateful” comments.

“I won’t share them anymore, I won’t do it,” she told the TV host.

“I’m not posting pictures of them anymore. I understand people saying you need to be more careful because you are in the public eye and you should have thought of that. And they’re right, but there’s a nice way to say that. There’s a kind way to be online.”

In the years since, she has started sharing sporadic photos of her family again.
