Meghan and Kate urged to end ‘feud’ by attending Wimbledon together

A royal expert has suggested how Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge could heal their rift in the coming weeks.

Around this time last year, Kate and Meghan enjoyed a girls’ day out at Wimbledon.

A lot can happen in 12 months, but despite ongoing “rift” rumours between the Cambridges and the Sussexes, one royal expert has urged the royals to attend the tournament together this year, too.

Speaking to The Sun, royal author Katie Nicholl said: “It would be wonderful to see Kate and Meghan at Wimbledon again this year and it would really put those rift rumours to bed.

“Meghan is on maternity leave and won’t be returning to work until October, but I have been told we will see her at a handful of things before then and there’s a chance we might see her at Wimbledon, particularly if Serena is playing as they are such close friends.

“The last time we saw Meghan was earlier this month at Trooping the Colour when she was riding in the carriage with Harry and Kate.

“Kate and her exchanged smiles, they seemed very comfortable in one another’s company and I think we need to see more of that if this ongoing narrative about a fall out is to be knocked on the head.”

The royal expert went on to explain that she doesn’t think there is any “real issue” between Meghan and Kate, adding that Harry and William’s relationship is “much better now”.

“My understanding is that there is no real issue between the women, they just aren’t particularly close, but with motherhood in common, it might be that a closer friendship flourishes,” she said.

“I’m also told that relations between William and Harry are much better now that the Sussexes have moved out of Kensington Palace.

“It’s given them all some much needed breathing space.”

Speaking to Yahoo’s Royal Box, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter agreed, explaining: “I think we may see Kate and Meghan at Wimbledon together again, which would be great, it would be a lovely show of togetherness.

“They clearly had a great time when they went before and they are the two major tennis fans.”

Arbiter went on to explain she didn’t think the “fab four” will all be there, as the royals wouldn’t want to detract attention from the match.

“I don’t think we’d see the four of them because I think, again, you’ve got to be aware that if you see the four of them it would totally detract from the tennis that was going on.

“It’s such a balance, you’re constantly thinking about who you’re upstaging, who’s writing about what.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that tensions arose between Harry and William after the Duke of Cambridge expressed concerns that Harry and Meghan’s relationship was moving “too quickly”.

Speaking to Fox News, Nicholl said: “William was concerned about how quickly the relationship had moved and wanted to make sure that Harry was making the right decision.

“What was intended as well-meaning, brotherly concern and a bit of advice went down quite badly with Harry, who felt William wasn’t being as supportive as he might have been.”

Last November, The Sun exclusively revealed that Meghan had “left Kate in tears” over her strict demands for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

An insider claimed the incident followed a “stressful” dress fitting — just weeks before Meghan married Prince Harry.

Earlier this month it was confirmed that the Royal Foundation — the charity set up by Prince William and Prince Harry — would be separated as the Sussex and Cambridge households focus on their own charitable endeavours.
