The Girls star’s bare chest made a cameo on Instagram courtesy of the show’s executive producer Jennifer Konner.

The nip covers even returned later in the evening from underneath her red Zac Posen gown, appearing stuck on the 28-year-old’s face.

“Another great use for nipple covers!” Konner wrote.

Lena Dunham misplaced her pasties.

While the stunt may have been all in the name of fun, one can’t help but think Dunham was drumming up a little publicity for the premiere of her fourth season of Girls, which aired the same night as the Globes.

The actress also revealed on the red carpet that she had deleted the Twitter app from her phone for the sake of her “emotional health”.

“People threaten my life and tell me what a cow I am,” she said, before adding that she still does use the platform “occasionally”.

“It’s just not the same codependence Twitter and I once shared.”
