King Charles ‘prepared to strip Harry and Meghan’s titles’ over Netflix and book deal

King Charles has threatened ‘drastic action’ against the Sussexes, as Prince William and Catherine mingled with crowds at an official appearance.

Meghan Markle doesn’t ‘get credit for being a normal person’

King Charles is prepared to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles if their Netflix show and bombshell memoir is “too damaging” to the royal family, an expert claims.

The King would also consider extending such a ban to the couple’s children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, despite his mother – the late Queen – refusing to take such a drastic step while alive, claims royal author Tom Bower.

The author, who spoke to dozens of courtiers and family associates in the last two years, says he believes Markle, 41, will not back down should the Sussex’s royal titles be removed.

“He [Charles] has made various threats to Meghan and Harry and warned them if they go ahead they will find themselves ostracised in a way they cannot believe. And so they are worried,” Mr Bower said.

“First of all, I do not think their children will get titles if they go ahead and slander the royal family.

“But they have also got to consider their own titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, could be taken away by Charles if they misbehave.

“That is something Meghan and Harry are very worried about because after all although she pours dirt on the royal family the whole time, whenever she introduces herself she says: ‘I am Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex’.”

Mr Bower said the recent reunion between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Queen’s funeral in London in September exposed the fragile relations between them and senior royals.

“In the end, they left Britain after the Queen’s funeral feeling as angry as ever, if not more,” he said.

“Because they had been excluded from various events especially a reception for the heads of states, (Harry) not been allowed to wear his uniform and there was no reconciliation between them and Kate and William.

“The Sussexes released a photo of themselves to media, hours after The King unveiled his snaps with William and Kate.

“This was the resumption of hostilities from Montecito to the royal Family.”

The Wales made an official visit to the seaside town of Scarborough to launch funding to support young people’s mental health.

The royal couple took time to talk to the small crowds that had greeted them at the two community centres they visited on Thursday.

One man asked the Princess for a photo before putting his arm around her.

The mother-of-three joined in, putting her arm around the man and smiling for the photo, seemingly unfazed the man had broken an unwritten rule by going beyond a handshake.

The younger royals are known for showing a more friendly rapport with the public and have been seen returning hugs and taking selfies with fans.

During the visit the Prince of Wales described how providing services throughout the community and talking are “crucial” in dealing with the ”mental health issues that many, many people face”.

“I think, particularly on the mental health side of things, tackling that stigma, talking about mental health and providing services throughout the community are crucial to how we go forwards and deal with mental health issues that many, many people face,” he said.
