'Ruthless' King Charles III could strip Prince Harry and Meghan's royal titles

Meghan Markle is set to be the star guest at a ritzy dinner event costing $7800 per table.

The event, in the US city of Indianapolis, has been billed as “The Power of Women: An Evening with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex”.

Funds raised at the event, to be held at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown hotel on November 29, “will be invested in the lives of women and girls in central Indiana”, organisers say.

The Duchess of Sussex will be interviewed by Rabbi Sandy Sasso, the first woman rabbi ordained by the Reconstructionist Judiasm movement. She previously led Congregation Beth-El Zedeck in Indianapolis.

Advisory board chair Tavonna Harris Askew said: “Women’s Fund of Central Indiana believes in the force of women’s voices, women’s experiences and women’s work. We know that

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex does, too. We are honoured that she will join us on this special evening to celebrate our common cause – the power of women.”

The event is “closed to the media” and guests must confirm they are not part of the media to attend.

Tickets for a table of 10 start at $7800, with $4000 worth of food and drinks provided at the event.

It comes as Markle and Prince Harry have been praised for their “moral courage”.

The couple have been named as Ripple Of Hope Award laureates by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights organisation for the work they do through their Archewell Foundation.

CHARLES KEEN TO VISIT AUSTRALIA

King Charles and Camilla are planning the royal family’s biggest-ever series of international tours, a royal source claims.

Charles and his wife will head to Australia, New Zealand as well as a number of Commonwealth countries in the Caribbean during the two-year travel blitz, according to The Sun.

And Prince William and Catherine will be stepping up in a “major support role” – also jetting off on several visits.

“The King and his family are keen to hit the ground running in these crucial first few months and years of his reign,” a royal source told The Mirror.

“He certainly wants to carry on the long-held mantra from his late mother of being seen to be believed, and is very keen to get out and meet as many people as possible.”

Meanwhile, a postponed trip to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh for Charles and Camilla is also being rescheduled.

So far Charles has visited 45 of 56 Commonwealth countries.

It’s thought the firm may even head on as many jaunts as the Queen undertook in the 1970s.

Her Majesty managed to pack in 52 Commonwealth visits and 21 trips to other countries to mark her 25th jubilee.

The King is already in talks with chief advisers to visit Canada and Australia “as soon as possible”.

This week a royal tour was announced for Australia in October – and if Charles is on the roster it would be the first time a reigning King has ever stepped foot on Australian soil.

CAMILLA TO LOSE ‘CONSORT’

It comes as Buckingham Palace is hoping to quietly drop ‘Consort’ from Queen Camilla’s title before King Charles’ coronation, sources claim.

The title of Queen Consort is given to the wife of a ruling king and was assigned to Camilla when the Queen passed away.

But ahead of King Charles’ coronation, aides are planning to cease using ‘Consort’ in his wife’s title, and instead refer to her as Queen Camilla, The Telegraph reports.

In modern history, former consorts have been referred to as the title of ‘Queen’ and their Christian name, including the Queen Mother who was called Queen Elizabeth.

Camilla took on the traditional title of Queen Consort as a mark of respect due to some opinions around her marriage into the royal family.

However the King and Queen Consort are “very relaxed” for her to be called Queen Camilla by the public and the press, it is understood.

Ahead of the coronation, the Palace are predicted to gauge the appropriateness of ‘Queen Camilla’ before adopting it formally.

In the meantime, Camilla is expected to still be referred to as the Queen Consort in formal communications, but it is understood the King is hoping his wife to be afforded the same respect as his grandmother was.

The title was decided following an address to the nation earlier this year when Elizabeth II said it was her “sincere wish” that Camilla be known as Queen Consort when she dies.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Times reported that with a 10-year renovation underway at Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s former residence, Charles and Camilla have no plans to live at the palace and have no plans to leave Clarence House where they will stay for the foreseeable future.

In a break with tradition, the royal standard will fly simultaneously over Buckingham Palace and Clarence House when the King is in London.
