Kidman’s film panned but her stunning dress is a hit on the Cannes red carpet

NICOLE Kidman’s latest film may have gotten poor reviews, but she smashed it out of the park when it came to her red carpet look.

NICOLE Kidman’s latest film may have gotten poor reviews, but she smashed it out of the park when it came to her red carpet look.

The Aussie actress fronted up on the Cannes red carpet for the premiere of Grace Of Monaco, in which she plays Grace Kelly, one of the most beautiful women of all time.

Wearing a blue encrusted Armani Prive gown, the 46-year-old looked every bit the royal princess.

The intricately designed dress featuring a Swarovski studded bodice, sweetheart neckline and a flowing lace skirt is from the design house’s Spring 2004 Couture collection.

Kidman described the gown as “a princess dress with a twist. And it plunges a bit, right”.

Grace of Monaco opened the prestigious 11-day festival, but didn’t garner the positive reviews it was hoping for.

The Hollywood Reporter described the film as a “stiff, stagey, thuddingly earnest affair which has generated far more drama off screen than on.”

While Variety called it: “[A] cardboard and frequently cornball melodrama about Grace Kelly’s bumpy transition from Hollywood to actual princess — and her (seemingly single-handed) saving of her embattled sovereign state from French annexation. Handsomely produced but as dramatically inert as star Nicole Kidman’s frigid cheek muscles.”

At least she looked good on the night and perhaps a little less puffy than she did the day before.

But she had some fierce competition in the style stakes from the likes of Blake Likely, Zoe Saldana and Jane Fonda.

However Karlie Kloss was slammed for this lacy number, and Kendall Jenner fell flat in her Cannes debut.
