Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding fallout was over a pair of tights, it has been claimed today.
The Sun previously revealed Meghan had left Kate in tears over what the bridesmaids would wear for her wedding to Prince Harry.
And further claims have since been reported over the clash between the two royals in the lead up to Meghan’s wedding.
Speaking to Tatler magazine, a friend of Meghan's said: “It was a hot day and apparently there was a row over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not.
“Kate, following protocol, felt that they should. Meghan didn’t want them to.”
An insider claimed the incident followed a “stressful” dress fitting — just weeks before Meghan, 38, married Prince Harry, 35.
Royal aides did not deny the incident had taken place, amid claims that the duchesses are “very different people”.
Royal sources said the pressure of the “stressful” fitting became too much for her now sister-in-law, and that Duchess of Cambridge Kate was left shaken and in tears.
Kate reportedly “put Meghan in her place” for allegedly “speaking down” to Kensington Palace staff.
The friend also said Kate feels “exhausted and trapped” over her “enormous” workload after Megxit.
Kate and Prince William have been front and centre during Britain’s coronavirus crisis, making a host of virtual appearances, as they isolate with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis at Anmer Hall, the family’s country home, two-and-a-half hours north of London.
But Kate is said to be “furious” over her larger workload after the Duke, 35, and Duchess of Sussex, 38, who are currently living in an $US18 million ($A27 million) mansion in Beverly Hills, stepped back from royal duty in March this year.
A source said: “William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus.”
The insider went on to call Meghan and Prince Harry “so selfish” for their behaviour, adding that their decision would have profound impacts on the couple’s family life.
“There goes their morning school runs as the responsibilities on them now are enormous.”
Although the mum-of-three continues to “smile and dress appropriately”, another source said Kate didn’t want to increase her working hours.
“She feels exhausted and trapped,” they said, according to a report in The Sun.
“She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”
Another friend Kate’s said the Duchess has reportedly been left fuming over the increase in workload.
They said: ‘Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this.”
Since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, Kate and William have been conducting royal visits over video call – most recently playing bingo with residents at Shire Hall Care Home in Wales.

Since their move, Prince Harry and Meghan spent Easter delivering meals for those too ill to cook for themselves and helped to provide 250,000 meals for struggling Brits during lockdown with their $A170,000 wedding donation.
Earlier this month, royal expert Katie Nicholl said Kate and William are making an effort to “let their guard down” to show “the future of The Firm”.
