Rapper Kanye West has opened up about his erratic social media behaviour in a new interview, apologising to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian for “any stress,” while explaining he feels like he has to “scream” to be heard on issues related to his children.

In an interview that aired in part on Good Morning America today, the 45-year-old rapper — who now goes by Ye — claimed he has to “fight” for a voice while co-parenting with Kardashian since their divorce after almost seven years of marriage.

“That hurts you when you have to like, scream about what your kids are wearing,” West said in the interview.

Elsewhere, he apologised to the reality star for slamming her in several Instagram outbursts since their relationship ended, including insults directed at Pete Davidson, who Kardashian was dating up until recently.

“This is the mother of my children, and I apologise for any stress that I have caused, even in my frustration because God calls me to be stronger,” West said.

“But also, ain’t nobody else needs to be causing no stress either. I need this person to be least stressed and at best sound mind and as calm as possible to be able to raise those children.”

Later, he added: “When I finally go to heaven and I get to talk to God I’m going to say, ‘Why did you let all these people think I was so crazy?’ and God is going to say, ‘Well it was a camouflage, I was protecting you.”

Discussing the pros and cons of social media, he remarked in a separate clip: “We could use a car to rush somebody to the hospital, we could use a car and accidentally hit somebody when we’re rushing to the hospital. So it’s all how we use it.”

The rapper briefly left Instagram following a spate of since-deleted posts earlier this month.

Recently, West and Kardashian have been butting heads other their children’s education, with Kanye set on sending North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 — to the private school he’s established, Donda Academy.

“I want my kids to go to Donda and I have to fight for a say so,” said West, revealing that Kardashian wishes for the kids to go to Sierra Canyon, a highly-regarded private school in LA.

It comes after a recent slew of posts in which West admitted to having an addiction to porn, saying it “destroyed” his family.

This was one of the many posts the rapper shared on Instagram, where he called out his former mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, as well as Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg and Charlamagne tha God, who he has feuded with in the past.

He also shared a screenshot of his text messages where an unidentified person (presumably Kardashian) asked him “to stop.”

“No, we need to talk in person, you don’t have a say so of where the kids go to school. Why you get say? Cause you half white?,” he responded.

Amid their conversation, she told him that her mom was asking him to “please stop mentioning” her name. Since 2019, West has been publicly slamming Kris for allegedly trying to “lock him up.”

“I’m almost 67 years old and I don’t always feel great and this stresses me to no end,” Kris seemingly begged him, according to Kardashian, to which he replied, “Y’all don’t have say so over my black children and where they go to school.”

He told the SKIMS mogul that “they will not do playboy and sex tapes” and to “tell your Clinton friends to come get” him.

Back in March, West claimed that his custody agreement with Kardashian was unfair after slamming her for letting their oldest daughter, North, have her own TikTok account.

The 21-time Grammy winner’s interview to social media comes after he retreated from public life for several months in April, dropping out of Coachella and deleting all his Instagram posts.

He reportedly sought treatment in April following his brazen public attacks aimed at Kardashian’s then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
