TEMPERATURES have soared even higher than usual on the mud flats of northern Australia as Myer faces Jennifer Hawkins and Kris Smith sport some of the hottest new looks for spring and summer.

The retail giant has chosen the Kimberley for the glamour campaign shoot, which wraps up on Monday.

Ambassadors Hawkins and Smith have flown to the remote and rustic location to capture the essence of Australia for the new campaign.

"The Australian vibe is what we wanted," Hawkins says.

"You can't get more Australian than where we are."

So remote were some of the locations that the 25-strong crew, including Hawkins and Smith, had to camp out under the stars in tents and vans.

"I'm surprised by how fun it's been, it reminds me of camping out with my family," Hawkins said.

"I'm in a campervan. I'm trying to decorate it a little bit.

"It's been worth it - the mud flats are so beautiful."

With limited and sometimes nonexistent mobile and internet access on location, Smith says he's enjoyed the sense of peace.

"It's refreshing ... It helps you forget the world and your worries," he says.

The surroundings may have been rustic but the fashion certainly is not.

"The fashion is out of control," Hawkins said.

"Because we've been getting down and dirty, it's been great to bring on some glam."

Key trends shot for the new season include monochrome, florals, geometric prints and stripes, and digital prints.

"Florals are huge for summer. They're in the whole collection, whether it be pants or shorts or a maxi, " Hawkins said.

It's all about blue for the men, in casual and more formal wear.

"The hottest hue is blue," Smith said.

"It's a massive favourite for most blokes, from denim to sharp tailored suits."
