Geoffrey Edelsten’s new girlfriend Gabi Grecko says his ex-wife Brynne’s style is ‘tacky’

GEOFFREY Edelsten’s new lover admits the outfit she wore to a funeral was ‘inappropriate’, but makes no apologies for what she thinks of Brynne.

In an interview on Sunrise this morning, the 24-year-old model, DJ and reality star tried to distance herself from the 71-year-old’s ex-wife saying she thinks she looks nothing like her and sees her style as “tacky”.

“We have different coloured eyes, different figures, I have a totally different style than she does,” Grecko said.

“I just think she’s maybe a little obvious. Her style is just kind of purposely out there and not strategically fashionable. It’s just kind of crazy and tacky.”

Edelsten and Brynne split in January after a four-year marriage, with Brynne only recently moving out of the apartment the couple shared in Melbourne’s CBD.

Grecko made her first public appearance with Edelsten at AFL legend Tommy Hafey’s funeral on Monday wearing a very busty and figure-hugging dress which was slammed as insensitive and inappropriate.

Grecko apologised for her choice of attire, admitting that her introduction to Australia “was not ideal.”

“First of all, I hadn’t worn that dress before but I had brought it for maybe a special occasion if me and Geoffrey went to dinner or something but I’d never really tried it on for fit and I haven’t actually attended a funeral for a very, very long time.

Grecko said she “assumed the dress was proper” and it was the only black dress she had.

Grecko says this was the only black outfit she had and “assumed it was proper”.

“I was only told at the very last minute that I was going to the funeral but what happened was I put it on very quickly, I got ready pretty quickly and kind of realised when I was arriving that the dress was a little too tight.

“I think the problem was the fit and not the dress, I think if it were tailored a little higher it would have been a little more tasteful.

“It’s extremely embarrassing actually because I went to the funeral to be there for Geoff because he had lost a friend.

“I am extremely ashamed and sorry if I caused any trouble. I’ve gotten a lot of grief for it and I’m very sorry.”

Grecko also defended her relationship with Edelsten, who is almost 50 years her senior, during the interview.

“I’m a very honest person and I could not be with someone I couldn’t stand or don’t really like for the rest of my life just for money. I’d make it some other way.”

The reality star said they met in the States and she noticed him because of his “bedazzled” outfit and sparkly tie.

“I just loved his fashion style and loved that he was so expressive and unique and it’s really hard to find people that aren’t afraid to be themselves. He just happened to be someone way older than me, but what am I gonna do?”
