Duchess of Cambridge Kate and daughter Princess Charlotte walk hand-in-hand on Wales visit

Princess Charlotte was being shown the ropes of how to walk on a royal tour with her mother, Kate Middleton. But it was her outburst of laughter that turned heads.

Kate Middleton showed sweet Princess Charlotte the royal ropes on Saturday on a Platinum Jubilee visit to Wales.

The Duchess of Cambridge held her daughter’s hand as she met entertainers staging a show to mark the Queen’s 70-year reign.

The pair joined Prince William and eight-year-old George, who also walked hand-in-hand, for the royal outing to Cardiff Castle in Wales.

Princess Charlotte, wearing a smart navy frock coat and blue Mary Jane shoes with white ankle socks, smiled as her mum waved to wellwishers.

At one point, the seven-year-old royal appeared to try to curtsy as she stepped out of the car with her family on arrival.

The Duchess was dressed in a long red coat — matching the colour of the red dragon on the Welsh flag.

Prince George, who is one day expected to be given the title the Prince of Wales, joined his family as they chatted to crowds of royal fans.

William placed his arm around his eldest son as he too demonstrated how official engagements are done.

But it was Princess Charlotte’s laughter that drew the eye of onlookers and fans across the world.

As soon as became more at ease, Princess Charlotte started giggling as she conducted a band while the family met those involved in the concert.

Kate, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte watched rehearsals and met some of the acts taking part in the celebrations, including Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, on what is the young siblings’ first official visit to Wales.

The Duchess later confirmed that her daughter is learning to play the piano, while Prince George is taking lessons in the electric guitar.

Tyler was last week made an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to music.

The royals will also meet weatherman Owain Wyn Evans, best known for his role on the nightly news program North West Tonight and The One Show.

The Cambridges and their children were then introduced to a number of West End performers, Rubicon Dance Company and the Wales Youth Choir for Good.

Prince Louis — who stole the show when he appeared on the Buckingham Palace’s balcony with his family and the Queen after Trooping the Colour on Thursday — missed out on the visit.
