Kaia Gerber has celebrated her 18th birthday with a Vogue cover and fans of her famous supermodel mum could be forgiven for thinking they’re seeing double.

Marking her 18th birthday as the cover star of the October 2019 issue of British Vogue, Kaia Gerber bears an uncanny resemblance to her supermodel mother Cindy Crawford.
They share the same dark hair and features and full brows — as well as fabulous figures, of course — and a striking, natural beauty.
Shot by American photographer Steven Meisel, who has worked extensively with Crawford, Gerber appears all grown up in the photos.
On the cover she wears a black and white graphic printed dress with matching hat and stunning coral and pearl earrings.
Within, she gets racier, modelling a fishnet top with her hair styled into a shock of wild frizz in a series of arty black and white photos.
The accompanying interview, however, reveals Kaia to lead a surprisingly quiet life when she’s away from the cameras, and scoffs at the idea of a boyfriend.
“When I’m working, I don’t have the energy to even flirt with anyone. I’m sorry, I just can’t,” Gerber laughs. “But I’m not losing hope in all love forever.”
She adds, “I have backgammon at my house, and that’s all a girl needs. When I’m home, I’m living the life of a 70 year old woman.”
British Vogue editor Edward Enniful was full of praise for Gerber, saying,
“I have known Cindy Crawford, her supermodel mother, since the ’90s, so it’s wonderful to now work with her daughter, who is as driven, hardworking and beautiful as Cindy is. It always pleases me that, every season, despite coming from privilege, I see Kaia in the trenches with the other models, doing show after show, always on time and with a kind word for everyone. That’s the way to do it.”
As for advice for her fellow young models, Gerber again reveals wisdom beyond her years.
“It’s just being yourself: not being afraid to read a book or talk about things that might be considered nerdy.”
Her lookalike mother is quick to reject any suggestion that Gerber is riding on her coat-tails.
“ … Meisel, or Chanel, or Vogue — well, they might have her for an audition, but they’re not booking her because she’s my daughter … I mean, she’s doing things I never did,” she said.
