If you thought 2018 was action-packed for these Aussie star couples, think again. From baby joy to shock new career moves, this year is shaping up to be the biggest one yet.

DAVID AND CANDICE WARNER

Cricketer David Warner and his wife Candice endured a hellish year in 2018. First, there was the ball-tampering scandal, which resulted in a year-long ban for the Australian vice-captain. Then there was mum-of-two Candice’s devastating miscarriage, which came one week after her husband’s tearful press conference.

But 2019 is bringing new joy for the sporting power couple. An overjoyed Candice revealed on New Year’s Eve that she is expecting another child in 2019. The doting parents, who have a property portfolio believed to be worth $10 million, will welcome a younger sibling for their two daughters, Ivy Mae and Indi Rae.

PETER STEFANOVIC AND SYLVIA JEFFREYS

This year marks a drastic departure for former Weekend Today host Peter Stefanovic after his shock departure from Channel 9.

Following his brother Karl’s lavish wedding in Mexico, it was announced Peter would not be returning to the network in 2019.

On December 23 it was announced that Peter’s wife, Sylvia Jeffreys, would be leaving Today, but remaining with Nine. Speculation is mounting that the journalist — the subject of ongoing pregnancy rumours — will be given her own prime-time TV show to host.

In his latest loved-up Instagram post, Stefanovic appears to be looking forward to new horizons and big changes in 2019. The normally baby-faced presenter sports a holiday beard in the snap as a beaming Sylvia gazes adoringly at her husband.

KARL STEFANOVIC AND JASMINE YARBROUGH

It’s been a hectic time for former Today host Karl Stefanovic after he was dropped from Channel 9. Stefanovic remains contracted to Nine with only one confirmed project, as host of This Time Next Year.

Amid reports that he and new wife Jasmine Yarbrough are considering a move to the US in 2019, the pair have enjoyed a low-key festive season with family and friends in the aftermath of their controversial wedding in Mexico.

BEC AND CHRIS JUDD

Once the AFL’s hottest couple, the ultra-savvy Judds have diversified since Chris’s retirement from football. Myer brand ambassador Rebecca, who hosts Channel 9’s Postcard series, has come a long way since she wowed the 2004 Brownlow crowd in that famous red dress, the year former West Coast Eagle Chris won the medal.

The former model and trained speech pathologist has built her own empire, which includes her sportswear line Jaggad, an Adairs bedding range, her clothing collaboration with Asilio and her beauty school, Beauty EDU.

On New Year’s Eve, the mother of four posted a loving tribute to Chris on their eighth wedding anniversary.

JENNIFER HAWKINS AND JAKE WALL

Golden girl Jennifer Hawkins shocked the fashion industry when stepped won as the face of Myer back in August. She then dropped another bombshell when she revealed to The Herald Sun that she would not be returing to the catwalk.

In 2019, the former Miss Universe winner plans to focus her attention on launching her tequila brand, Sesion with husband Jake Wall into the United States market. It’s the latest savvy move for the business-minded couple, who boast an enviable portfolio of luxury Sydney properties.

NICOLE KIDMAN AND KEITH URBAN

They have one of the strongest marriages in showbiz. And 2019 is set to be another bumper year for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. The loved-up pair still call Australia home, regularly flitting between their pads in Los Angeles, Nashville and Sydney.

Kidman’s phenomenal acting career goes from strength to strength — there’s talk of another Oscar after her recent Golden Globe nomination for her role in the harrowing drama Destroyer.

The ever supportive Urban will no doubt be by his wife’s side when she graces the Golden Globes red carpet on January 7, just as Kidman was there for him when he hosted the ARIAs in Sydney in November.

As she prepared to ring in 2019, Kidman paid a loving tribute to her husband of 12 years on Instagram with a series of touching images.

LIAM HEMSWORTH AND MILEY CYRUS

Their romance has fascinated cleebirty watchers for years, veering from loved-up red carpet displays to dramatic break-ups. But Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth and pop sensation Miley Cyrus finally cemented their union when they tied the knot after ten years of dating just two days before Christmas.

Despite their estimated combined wealth of $186 million, the couple kept their wedding low-key. Echoing the nuptials of her parents 15 years ago, Cyrus and Hemsworth got hitched in the living room of their Tennessee mansion.

Hemsworth has a busy 2019 ahead with his upcoming role in the Rebel Wilson rom-com Isn’t It Romantic. Cyrus has promised her fans “a lot” of new music in 2019 with a new album and world tour.

BEN SIMMONS AND KENDALL JENNER

They’re one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, with their romance taking the fashion and NBA worlds by storm. For Aussie basketballer Ben Simmons, it’s a long way from his home town of Melbourne to the inner sanctum of the Kardashian clan in Beverly Hills.

The Philadephia 76ers star has been dating superstar model Kendall Jenner since last May, but the couple have been quiet about their relationship.

Simmons made a rare public declaration of affection when Jenner posted a sultry picture on Instagram last week, posting two “drooling” emjois as his comment.

With both of their careers in overdrive, 2019 will no doubt be a big one for the couple. It could also prove monumental in the romantic sense, with Jenner recently joking about how her “bachelorette” status made her feel “awkward” and that unlike sisters Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Kylie, she is not yet a mother.

BUDDY AND JESINTA FRANKLIN

AFL glamour couple Buddy and Jesinta Franklin are heading into 2019 stronger than ever after “a tough few months” in 2018.

The model revealed she was on “two hours’ sleep” after Swans forward Buddy launched his new merchandise line, Buddy Franklin Authentic, last August.

Buddy Franklin Authentic includes red, black and grey Franklin-branded hoodies featuring his number and signature, along with caps, key rings and stickers.

“I’m kind of like doing all the back end of that … the accounts, the finances, the ordering,” Jesinta told News Corp Australia.

“He likes to call himself the CEO, who just comes in and oversees everything,” she said.

“He’s even got a business card that says CEO on it.”

Jesinta also opened up about her mother Valerie, 52, being diagnosed with bowel cancer in early 2018.

“She is recovering … it’s been a really tough time for the family,” Jesinta told the Morning Show.

“We had no idea, she had no symptoms … she’s vibrant, she’s fit.

“It’s a cancer that doesn’t get spoken about much … it’s an ugly cancer, and the recovery is really, really tough.

“But she’s doing really well now. It’s been a tough few months.”

Jesinta said her mother’s health battle had prompted her to look at her own workload and lifestyle.
