Prince Harry blames King Charles, Camilla for Meghan lies; Catherine Middleton turns 41

Prince Harry has hinted at who is to blame for leaking false stories about fights between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

Harry and Meghan ‘jealous’ of William and Kate

The infamous and false story about Meghan Markle making her sister-in-law Catherine Middleton cry may have been leaked by then Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry has hinted in his memoir.

The so-called “fab four” held crisis talks in late 2018 after stories in the press which claimed Ms Markle made the Princess of Wales cry in the days before Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

Prince Harry said Princess Catherine immediately acknowledged that reporting of the dispute – over adjustments to the bridesmaids’ dresses –was “totally false”.

“I know, Meghan, that I was the one who made you cry,” Princess Catherine told her, according to the Duke of Sussex.

He said Prince William and his wife were “flustered” when Prince Harry and Ms Markle pushed to know why the stories had not been corrected by the palace.

They then tried to figure out how the leaks had happened in the first place, with Prince Harry saying that the “list of suspects became vanishingly small”.

“Finally, finally, Willy leaned back and conceded that, ahem, while we’d been on tour in Australia, he and Kate had gone to dinner with Pa and Camilla ... and alas, he said sheepishly, he might’ve let it slip that there’d been strife between the two couples,” the Duke of Sussex wrote.

“I put a hand over my face. Meg froze. A heavy silence fell. So now we knew.”

The Prince of Wales said he told his brother: “You ... of all people ... should’ve known.”

He said William nodded and that “he knew”.

ROYALS BREAK SILENCE WITH SWEET MESSAGE FOR KATE

The Princess of Wales turned 41 today, January 9, local time, and her milestone celebration was not to be overshadowed by Prince Harry’s two bombshell interviews to promote his book, Spare.

The royal family broke its silence just hours after Prince Harry gave two incendiary interviews to British and American television - but did not comment on the furore, choosing rather to convey a sweet birthday greeting to the Princess of Wales.

On Twitter, they posted a picture of Kate Middleton greeting a little girl in traditional Welsh costume who is presenting the kneeling royal with a bouquet of flowers.

The post says: “Wishing The Princess of Wales a very Happy Birthday today!” and included a cake emoji.

Catherine, Princess of Wales is expected to celebrate her big day with a private family gathering.

This is not the first time she has had to celebrate her birthday in the context of upheaval caused by the Sussexes. On 8 January, 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they would be stepping down from duties as senior royals.

It comes as the royal family has been once more thrown into turmoil over media statements made by Prince Harry, this time to promote the release of his autobiography, Spare.

The book, which was leaked prior to its publication, has unleashed a series of bombshell allegations, which have been further underscored by statements made by Prince Harry on ITV’s Harry: The Interview, 60 Minutes, and Good Morning America.

In comments that are sure to be upsetting to Kate Middleton on her birthday, Prince Harry alleges that his sister-in-law and his wife Meghan Markle never really got along.

Prince Harry said in the ITV interview that a lot of “stereotyping” of Meghan Markle went on about her being an “American actress, divorced, bi-racial”, which made it impossible for Kate to welcome Meghan into the royal family.

Previously, Catherine appears to have gotten along well with her brother-in-law.

Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have not yet responded to the latest statements from Prince Harry.
