Amber Heard claims she punched Johnny Depp to stop him pushing his sister down the stairs ‘like he did to Kate Moss’

In yet another day of jaw-dropping testimony, Amber Heard explained to a court in London why she “punched” ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Amber Heard has claimed she punched Johnny Depp to stop him pushing her sister down the stairs like she’d heard he allegedly did to supermodel Kate Moss.

Heard, 34, name dropped the 1990s megastar Moss as she gave evidence in Depp’s libel suit over an article that accused him of being a “wife beater”.

The ex-wife of the Pirates of the Caribbean star was on the verge of tears as she told how Johnny Depp “beat her up on her 30th birthday” and angrily denied that she defecated in the couple’s bed.

She also denied having an affair with Tesla billionaire Elon Musk and that she was trying to hide James Franco’s face on CCTV when he visited her apartment the day after her marriage ended.

The claims about Depp’s alleged attack on Moss, whom he dated for three years in the 1990s, came during a remarkable day of evidence in London’s High Court.

“I did strike Johnny that day in defence of my sister. He was about to push her down the stairs,” she said.

“I recalled that he (Depp) had pushed a previous girlfriend, Kate Moss, down the stairs. I recalled that information and in a flash I acted in defence of her.”

Eleanor Laws, QC for Depp, challenged Heard on that evidence claiming she had made it up on the spot.

She played a video of a deposition from Heard that did not include the claims about Moss, but the Aquaman star denied that she had invented the claim.

“For years I had been Johnny’s punching bag and I will never forget this incident. It was the first time after all these years,” she said.

The court also played video footage of Heard and actor James Franco entering the lift at the apartment block the day after she accused Depp, 57, of attacking her in May 2016.

Heard denied that she had an affair with anyone during her relationship or marriage with Depp, despite his claims against her.

“Not that that matters, but no,” she said, appearing annoyed at being asked the question.

The court heard details of text messages between Heard and entrepreneur Elon Musk, 48, who offered to provide her “24/7 security” that would be “utterly confidential”.

“And the offer would stand even if you never wanted to see me again,” Musk, who has publicly denied an affair with Heard and a threesome with Cara Delevingne, 27, wrote. “I really like you.”

The court discussed an argument that Heard and Depp had on her 30th birthday in April 2016.

She claimed that Depp attacked her after they had a dispute about him missing her party, after he scheduled a meeting 30 minutes before the celebration was due to start.

“I couldn’t be excited. My husband beat me up on my 30th birthday and I went to sleep by myself. I was heartbroken,” she said.

Heard left to attend the Coachella music festival the next day.

“Human” faeces were found in her bed in her Los Angeles penthouse at 3pm on April 22, 2016, by cleaner Hilda Vargas.

Heard denied that she had defecated in the bed, which she claimed was hers alone to use after the couple had begun sleeping in separate rooms.

She claimed that the couple’s dogs may have been responsible for the mess. One of the dogs had a problem with their bowels because they had eaten cannabis that she claimed Depp had left around the house.

“I cannot fathom what adult would ever do such a thing. I do not think that’s funny I do not think that could be called a prank,” Heard said.

“I do not know who could have a sense of humour other than Johnny.”

Ms Laws repeatedly said Heard was lying on the stand, which she consistently denied.

Mr Justice Nicol at points was forced to interrupt both Ms Laws and Heard about their exchanges.

At times Ms Laws and Heard spoke over each other, with the barrister complaining about the length of her answers, while Mr Justice Nicol asked her to be specific with her questions.

“Please, I only want one person speaking at a time,” he said.
