A former footman to the Royal family reveal the poshest way to eat fruit

A FORMER footman to the Queen and butler to Princess Diana has revealed how the Royals eat bananas, and it’s as posh as you’d expect.

How does the Queen eat a banana

PAUL Burrell used his appearance on Through The Keyhole to show off how the Queen supposedly eats bananas.

The 58-year-old used to be a footman for HRH Elizabeth II before he started work as a butler for the late Princess Diana, the Sun reports.

Paul left viewers of the show stunned when he decided to give the audience a lesson on how the Queen — and the rest of the Royals — supposedly eat their bananas.

Taking a banana on a plate, along with a knife and fork, Paul explained firstly how people should hold their cutlery.

He explained: “It’s knowing how to hold a knife and fork to begin with, you never see the handles.

“To eat a banana properly in society or at a dinner party … this is how the Queen does it.”

Paul then showed off how he claimed the Queen would get into her banana — deftly slicing off the ends before cutting the skin open.

He explained: “You split open the belly, some people eat it like a monkey of course…”

“Now you cut it up into small bite-size pieces and then you eat it … with your knife and fork.”

He then divided the banana up into small pieces with his knife and fork and started to eat them delicately.

As he did so, the panel — which was made up of Rochelle Humes, Fay Ripley and Steve Jones — couldn’t hide their disbelief.

Steve shouted at him: “It’s absurd! I don’t believe it!”

The internet also struggled to believe their eyes, with some tweeting their disbelief.
