Sydney Sweeney put her best foot forward at the premiere of her new movie, Reality.
The actress – who became a fan favourite after starring on Binge shows The White Lotus and Euphoria – wore a strapless and sheer black gown with a velvet train to the screening in New York City on Tuesday evening.
The 25-year-old’s bombshell appearance at the premiere is a far cry from the real-life character she portrays in Reality.
The film is based on a true story about American whistleblower Reality Winner, a former US Air Force member and National Security Agency translator who leaked an intelligence report about Russian interference in the 2016 US elections.
Sweeney was unlike her typically glamorous self in the film after undergoing a makeunder. In the movie, she wore close to no makeup and her trademark blonde hair was tied in a bun throughout.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sweeney said many didn’t think she could play a former Air Force veteran.
“At first they were not sure someone who played Cassie [in Euphoria] could pull off Reality,” she told the magazine. But she was up for the challenge.

“She embodies all of these different contradictions that defy what it means to be a woman, a veteran, a Millennial,” she said. “And then also just the actual situation: the interrogation, the fact that this was a real moment in a woman’s life that felt surreal and incredibly tense with huge consequences.”
Sweeny has four other films in the pipeline, including the highly anticipated, R-rated rom-com Anyone But You.
The actress filmed the Will Gluck-directed movie in Australia alongside co-stars Glen Powell, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel Griffiths and Bryan Brown.
The movie is without controversy as Powell split from his model girlfriend Gigi Paris once filming wrapped last month amid claims of an on-set romance between the Top Gun: Maverick actor and Sweeney.
While the co-stars have remained silent, Paris unfollowed both of them on Instagram and posted a video of herself with a cryptic message: “Know your worth & onto the next”.
