Celebrities put on red carpet spectacle at Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles

One of the most star-studded events on the Hollywood calendar has taken place overnight, where sheer gowns were the running trend.

Why Meghan red carpet video is so shocking

A flurry of Hollywood’s brightest stars have stepped out at a glitzy gala in Los Angeles.

The likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez, Natalie Portman and Oprah Winfrey, just to name a few, attended the 3rd annual Academy Museum of Motion Pictures event on Sunday evening, local time.

Suffice to say, with such an elite roster of celebrities, the red carpet was a breathtaking style spectacle, with sheer gowns reigning supreme.

British pop star Dua Lipa was a fashion highlight, debuting mahogany red hair as she posed for photographers in a lace see-through Chanel gown.

The US supermodel posed with longtime friend Hailey Bieber, who opted for a black sequined dress.

The annual gala, in its third year, seeks to raise funds for the museum’s exhibitions, with this year’s event raising over $US10 million.

Four icons were among the high-profile honorees for 2023, including Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, Michael B. Jordan and Sofia Coppola, who were each celebrated for their contributions to the industry.

Eilish performed inside the venue, where she sang her Barbie soundtrack number 1 hit What Was I Made For?.

It marked the first major event on the showbiz calendar since the conclusion of the Hollywood strikes, which lasted 118 days and finally came to an end in November.
