Sunrise weather presenter James Tobin has married his long-term partner in a secret ceremony in rural NSW.
The popular presenter exchanged vows with his fiancée, Farrah, in front of their family and closest friends over the weekend.
According to their friends’ social media posts, the couple said ‘I do’ in a low-key affair at the Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory – a scenic two-hour drive from Canberra.
The 44-year-old wore a cream suit paired with a blue shirt and tie, and the bride wore a cathedral veil over her short white minidress adorned with beaded tassels.
The couple ditched the traditional white wedding cake in favour of a two-tier chocolate creation, which they playfully smashed with a baton as guests looked on.
It’s no wonder the pair married far away from the prying eyes of Sydney. They have been rather private about their relationship since they began dating in 2021, rarely sharing details about their relationship on social media.
But in October last year they couldn’t help but contain their excitement as they announced their engagement.
“A bit of news … we’re getting married. A lot of my life is lived out on TV, but I’ve also kept some things private because, well, not everything needs to be out there,” Tobin wrote on Instagram at the time.
Tobin – who previously dated former Pussycat Dolls member Jessica Sutta – went on to say Farrah had been living and studying in Perth over the past couple of years, and was set to make the move back to Sydney.
“For those who don’t know Farrah, she’s a ray of sunshine in this world. She’s brilliant and beautiful, funny and clever, a kind heart who saves lives and runs ultra marathons in her spare time,” he continued.
“The last couple of years of our relationship have been long distance while Farrah has been in Perth completing a fellowship in interventional cardiology and I couldn’t be prouder of her.
“Finally she’s coming home to our little place and we’re looking forward to starting the next chapter of our lives together. I’m the happiest man alive.”
They celebrated their engagement with a romantic trip to Hamilton Island – and, in a surprise move, Tobin shared some rare couple photos of them on Instagram.
“We were overwhelmed by the messages of love and support after our engagement… thank you,” he captioned his carousel of holiday snaps. “Back to reality after an incredible time on the amazing @hamiltonisland.”
There are plenty more trips on the horizon for Tobin. He recently joined the line-up of presenters on Seven’s newly reboot of travel program The Great Outdoors.
His fellow presenters include Phil Burton, Teigan Nash, Kimberley Busteed, Lee Carseldine and Chris Parsons.
“I grew up watching The Great Outdoors and still can’t quite believe I’ve now got one of the best gigs on TV as I share these incredibly unique travel destinations with our viewers,” Tobin said in a statement.
