Sarah Ferguson gives royal fans health update while leaving hospital appointment

Sarah Ferguson has given royal fans an insight into her health battles while leaving a hospital appointment.

Sarah Ferguson gave worried royal fans a health update as she left a hospital appointment following her malignant melanoma diagnosis.

The Duchess of York’s skin cancer battle comes just months after she underwent a mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis.

Despite her health worries, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew was in good spirits and waved to onlookers as she left King Edward VII’s hospital in Marylebone.

“I’m fine, thank you”, she said when asked by fans how she was doing outside the hospital following her appointment.

Wearing a navy blue blazer, matching skirt, black tights and loafers, she stopped to chat briefly before being driven off by a driver.

Earlier this week, the Duchess of York wrote on Instagram that she was in “good spirits”.

“Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support,” the post read.

“I am resting with family at home now, feeling blessed to have their love and support.”

The malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, was discovered while the Duchess was having several moles removed while undergoing breast reconstruction surgery – with one of those identified as cancerous.

She has been in Austria and is still undergoing tests after spending Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham.

“Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,” her spokeswoman said.

“Her dermatologist asked that several moles were removed and analysed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous.

“She is undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages.

“Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing but the Duchess remains in good spirits.”

The news come as other members of the royal family are being treated for different conditions.

This week King Charles III will undergo hospital treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Catherine, Princess of Wales is currently in hospital recovering after undergoing abdominal surgery.
