King Charles is more decisive than the late Queen when it comes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal source has claimed.
Last week, while was on a charity trip to Japan, Prince Harry’s HRH title was quietly removed from the Royal Family website in what royal experts described as a “brutal reality check” from Buckingham Palace to the Sussexes.
“For it was surely no coincidence that the Prince’s arrival in the Far East coincided with the brutal reality check administered by Buckingham Palace about his status — and that of his wife — in the new‑look Royal Family,” Richard Kay wrote in the Daily Mail.
Now, a royal insider has claimed that’s a result of King Charles’ decisiveness, following months of his son lobbing bombs at the royal family.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source said that the late Queen had always hoped that Harry and Meghan would return to the fold so she never pushed them out for good, despite the ongoing tension within the family.
The new King, however, is more ruthless, the source claimed.
“Her Majesty never stopped hoping there would be some kind of reconciliation and that the couple would return to the [royal family] one day.”
But King Charles has been infinitely more brutal, even evicting the couple from their UK base at Windsor Castle, Frogmore Cottage.
“Even if he didn’t authorise it, he must have been aware that the changes were certain to become a talking point,” the source reportedly told the Mail.
The removal of Harry’s HRH title online comes after months of him and Meghan throwing accusations at the royals.
It comes as Meghan is alleged to have turned to a radical stress-busting tool to help her keep calm after months of personal drama.
And in another blow to the Sussexes, Ms Markle was left humiliated after her birthday was publicly ignored by King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Catherine on her birthday.
It made it the second snub in days after it was revealed the couple won’t be part of the Royal Family’s event marking the one-year anniversary of the Queen’s death.
It can now be revealed that Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend an engagement marking one year of the late Queen’s passing next month, according to reports.
King Charles has even buried the hatchet with his controversial brother, Prince Andrew, who was stripped of his HRH title last year by the Queen amid allegations of sexual assault.
Harry and Meghan’s visit to Germany on September 9 for the Invictus Games will be the couple’s first joint appearance in Europe since the Queen’s funeral.
No royals are expected to see the controversial couple when they are in Europe as they are likely to still be at Balmoral.
A source said of the commemorations snub: “If they are not included in any of those plans they will find a way to mark the significance in their own way.”
Over the weekend, Prince Harry concluded his visit to Asia by participating in a charity polo match in Singapore.
