The Prince of Wales smiled and took selfies as he returned to work, making a sweet comment about Kate hours after video with the princess was posted.

Princess Kate reportedly seen in public

Prince William was all smiles and gave a royal wave as he returned to work after being seen at Princess Catherine’s side in the first video since her surgery.

The future King was pictured on Tuesday as part of his Homewards program, which aims to battle homelessness throughout the UK.

The Prince of Wales was greeted warmly with cheers from well-wishers as he arrived in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

When the subject of formative childhoods was raised by Sheffield City Council chief executive Kate Josephs, Prince William immediately referred to the success of Princess Catherine’s Early Years projects. Holding his palms up and smiling, he deferred to the Princess of Wales’s expertise and said: “That’s my wife’s area, she needs to be sat here.”

The group includes over 70 organisations, and members of the local community with lived experience of homelessness.

He was pictured beaming as he spoke with parents, carers and young adults from local families who have experienced homelessness.

His first appearance since The Sun exclusively revealed footage of Kate at Windsor Farm Shop, will see him announce a pledge to the cause of £1 million (A$2m) thanks to Homebase.

The DIY store is committing to furnishing and decorating new housing projects for those who need it.

The Prince of Wales is then expected to head to a meeting at the Millennium Gallery in central London.

His royal engagement comes just hours after a video of he and Kate was published.

‘DIGITALLY ENHANCED’: ANOTHER PHOTO FAIL BY KATE

In another embarrassment for Princess Catherine, a much-loved image she took of the late Queen Elizabeth with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was found by global picture agency Getty Images to have been “digitally enhanced at source”.

The picture of the late Queen and eight of her 12 grandkids and great-grandkids was taken in Balmoral in August 2022.

Buckingham Palace released the image on April 21 last year, which would have been the late monarch’s 97th birthday.

A review by Getty determined the picture had been manipulated from the original. It follows the fallout from the Princess’s mother’s day image, which also showed extensive photoshopping.

In the image with the Queen, several editing issues such as the sofa not aligning, the Queen’s skirt being mismatched and black patches behind some of the children highlight the photo manipulation.

“Getty Images has reviewed the image in question and placed an editor’s note on it, stating that the image has been digitally enhanced at source,” a Getty Images spokesperson confirmed.

MODEL BREAKS SILENCE OVER PRINCE WILLIAM ‘AFFAIR’

The model at the centre of Prince William affair allegations has broken her silence to deny the claims.

Lady Rose Hanbury has spoken out via her lawyers to say the rumours “are completely false”, according to Business Insider.

The unfounded claims hit fever pitch last week when US talk show host Stephen Colbert made a joke on air about the allegations involving Prince William and married mother-of-three Ms Hanbury.

It came as the Princess of Wales was seen in a hoodie looking jovial and the picture of health on a shopping trip with the Prince William and their children.

Footage emerged showing Princess Catherine carting her own shopping bags as she walked briskly through the car park of a farm shop near her home in Windsor on Saturday.

The royal smiled and laughed as she chatted with husband Prince William during her walk.

Despite her wholesome appearance, the Princess remains off duty as she continues to recover from abdominal surgery and is expected to return to work after the school holidays at Easter.

She has been out of the public eye since undergoing abdominal surgery at the London Clinic eight weeks ago, triggering an avalanche of conspiracy theories and scrutiny over her health.

Royal expert Rob Jobson told Seven’s Sunrise the video should put paid to conspiracy theories.

“I am glad to see this video released, I’m sure it will put some of the doubters back in their box but not all of them,” he told Sunrise.

“She’s smiling, she looks fit and in good health.”

It has been a difficult time for the Princess, who issued a rare personal apology after a family photograph she released to mark Mother’s Day was later found to be edited.

WILLIAM ‘HURT’ OVER KATE SCRUTINY

Earlier, a royal expert said Prince William felt hurt by the treatment of his wife and was seeing repeat “elements” of the scrutiny his mother Princess Diana suffered.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, royal expert Roya Nikkhah addressed the growing online conspiracy theories around the Princess of Wales’ illness, following her surgery eight weeks ago during which time she has been absent from public duty.

Speaking about the social media interest over Kate Middleton’s health on Monday, she said: “Having seen his mother go through quite a lot of that, the hounding of his mother, I think he feels he is seeing elements of that being breached again in terms of the demands and screeches at his wife over her medical privacy and that is hurting him.”

Asked if Prince William feels “sensitive” about the similarities, Nikkhah, who is Royal Editor of The Sunday Times: “He always has been, ever since he has been a child and since he has been with Catherine since university.”

Princess Catherine was seen for the first time in public looking radiant while shopping at the Royal Farms Windsor Farm Shop near her home on Saturday.

Passers-by said she stopped to talk to them while making the short trip with the Prince of Wales from their home Adelaide Cottage, Windsor in the morning.

She had been slowly stepping out in public and on Saturday also spent the morning with the Prince of Wales cheering on their children George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five, at a sporting event.

The sightings come amid growing speculation about her health which has left the royal couple feeling shaken, friends say.

Speculation grew when Catherine publicly took the blame for the family photograph released by Kensington Palace on Mother’s Day, which was “killed” by six of the world’s top picture agencies over concerns that it had been “manipulated”.

As well as a number of imperfections in the Photoshopped image, viewers also spotted that the Princess of Wales was not wearing her wedding ring, which has spawned multiple unfounded theories online about the state of her marriage.

It is understood Kate could address her health condition at public engagements next month.

Nikkhah said: “I think she is going to be much more open about what’s happened, I think she will do it in a natural organic way like on an engagement.

“We have seen William at engagements in the past few weeks and everyone is asking him how is Kate, saying please give these flowers to your wife, I think when she’s out and about she will be asked about it.

“I’m not saying she will go into every detail about what surgery she has had, but she might find a way to speak about her recovery, about the places it’s taken her mentally and physically. We know mental health is an important thing for them, that is the way she is going to let the people know [what] has been going on.”

The Princess is not expected to return to work until after April 17, when her three children go back to Lambrook School after the Easter holidays.

The Sunday Times quoted a friend as saying: “They will want to be clear and more open, but they’ll do it when they feel ready. I would expect that to be her instinct and it will be her call. They’re not going to be rushed.”

Despite the difficult few weeks for the royal family, it is expected that they will still uphold the tradition of releasing a new photograph to mark Prince Louis’s birthday on April 23.
