An ecstatic Prince William has let rip in the soccer stands as he cheered on his beloved Aston Villa to a crushing victory.
The royal made a surprise visit to Birmingham to watch his team take on Club Brugge in a Champions League match.
The heir to the throne showed he was just like any other regular fortysomething football fanatic as he celebrated wildly when Aston Villa scored their first goal.
Wearing a khaki jacket and an Aston Villa scarf, the royal, who is patron of the Football Association, focused intently during the match.
Aston Villa won the match 3-0, with the club sealing their bid to get into the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
His appearance came the day after William met the team at their training ground at Bodymoor Heath.
The royal also carried out an official engagement at a referee training course while he was in the West Midlands.
The future king was greeted by hundreds of excited children at the event in Willenhall.
During his meeting with the players, Prince William chatted with Morgan Rogers and gave Matty Cash a hug.
He also watched the squad from the sidelines with Villa’s president of football operations, Ramn Rodriguez Verdejo, known as Monchi, and Damian Vidagany, director of football operations.
Passionate soccer fan William caused a stir in January, when he joined fellow Aston Villa fans for a pint in a Wetherspoons pub in Birmingham before a midweek match.
