Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted out on a rare night out in California with their new celebrity friends.
The couple were seen heading into the Michelin-starred Sushi by Scratch Restaurants: Montecito in Santa Barbara on Friday night, in what initially appeared to be a date night.
However, Page Six now reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were joined by Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, TV producer Brad Falchuk, along with Cameron Diaz and her Good Charlotte rocker husband Benji Madden.
The A-list group also included CEO and founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolf Herd, and her husband, Texas oil heir Michael Herd.
Forbes has estimated the net worth of Wolfe Herd - who is the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire - at approximately $US1.5 billion ($A2.24 billion).
The outing came just a week after Harry’s fly-in-fly-out visit to the UK for his father’s coronation.
He arrived in London on Friday afternoon and left just over 24 hours later, well before the celebrations had even finished, while his wife stayed home with their two young children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 1.
A source close to the royal family told Vanity Fair afterwards that Harry didn’t see or speak to his family outside the televised ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
“One makes one’s choices. To be honest there wasn’t much talk of Harry at all. The focus was very much on the occasion,” a source told the publication.
Meghan also made an unexpected appearance on Instagram over the weekend.
The Duchess of Sussex posed with her arm around Alliance of Moms co-founder, Kelly McKee Zajfen, in a picture shared to the organisation’s social media on Saturday.
In the image, both women are smiling and wearing matching ‘Community Motherhood’ T-shirts in support of a new campaign by the Alliance, which aims to raise awareness of “expectant and parenting foster youth” in Los Angeles.
“As Mother’s Day approaches, I can’t help but think of my own #commUNITY of Motherhood. I instantly think of you Meg,” the caption read.
“How incredibly nurturing and warm and open you are. What an incredible friend and mother. I’m truly in awe of you and I am so grateful you are part of my #CommUNITYofmotherhood.”
Ms Zajfen continued: “You are always the first to say yes and support those you love. You are a fierce advocate for those who are in need. Thank you for joining this year’s campaign to support LA’s expectant and parenting foster youth, which helps provide critical services, education, resources and advocacy so they can build a better future for themselves and their families.”
