Prince Harry, Meghan Markle ‘not wanted’ in the UK

Prince Harry will be in London just days out from the anniversary of the Queen’s death, but a royal expert has claimed the Royal Family is wary because any “trust” is gone.

Rumoured 'peace talks' between King Charles and his sons William and Harry

A royal expert has claimed that “nobody wants” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the UK following reports that they want to try and reconcile with the Royal Family.

Earlier this month it was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are hoping to repair their soured relationship with Prince William by renting an apartment in Kensington Palace.

But, according to a report in the New York Post, royal biographer and expert Angela Levin claims that the exiled royal couple’s “help” is simply not wanted on Prince Harry’s home soil.

“I think they’re doing this whole thing about they want to come back … they were going to rent a room in one of the palaces and be there so that they can help, but nobody wants them to help,” Ms Levin said.

Ms Levin later told GB News that the Royal Family simply doesn’t trust Prince Harry in case he “sells whatever is said to him”.

“You can’t trust Harry,” she said.
“You don’t know if he’s going to sell whatever you say to him to earn a lot of money, Netflix or somebody else.”

Despite the Sussexes’ alleged damage-control gesture, another royal expert said a reconciliation between the feuding brothers isn’t on the cards anytime soon.

“I see no signs of that whatsoever,” Talk TV’s Royal Editor Sarah Hewson said.

“The damage, the wounds are so deep it’s gonna take an awful lot and an awful long time to heal those wounds.

“And, at this stage, I just don’t see any evidence whatsoever that there is a desire on either side, yet, to put an end to this and to forgive and forget,” Ms Hewson added.

In fact, royal experts believe that the Sussexes may have pushed King Charles “right to the limit.”

Charles Rae, former royal editor of the Sun, said the pair’s constant attacks on the Royal Family cemented their status as “total outcasts.”

HARRY TO RETURN TO UK

Earlier, it was revealed Prince Harry will be in the UK days before the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death but is not expected to attend a royal family gathering to honour the late monarch.

The Duke of Sussex on Wednesday revealed he will return to London to take part in a ceremony for WellChild, a charity for seriously ill children that he has been a patron of for 15 years.

Harry is expected to deliver a speech at the event and announce the Inspirational Child award.

His wife, Meghan Markle, is not expected to attend.

In a statement, Prince Harry said, “For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people across the U.K., providing critical care that prioritises the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of these individuals and their families.”

He continued: “The courage and strength embodied by these young people — and the tireless devotion of those who support them — never cease to inspire me.

“I’m honoured to attend this year’s awards ceremony and celebrate their incredible work.”

The Sussexes planned to be at last year’s WellChild Awards ceremony on September 8 but those plans were abandoned after his grandmother fell critically ill. She died later that day.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to mark the anniversary of Elizabeth’s death at Balmoral surrounded by family. But according to The Sun, insiders said there had been no “outreach” from senior royals to the US-based Sussexes about the anniversary.

PEACE TALKS ON ICE

It comes amid speculation that proposed “peace talks” between the ex-royal and his father will not be happening despite suggestions the two would try to reconcile.

There are suggestion that the two would meet privately on September 17 to coincide with the end of the Prince Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Germany and King Charles’ return to London from Balmoral.

Meghan is also expected to join her husband in Germany.

According to Fox News, multiple royal experts said they don’t believe a “peace summit” is happening between the monarch and “the spare”.

“The person I spoke to about this, they poured quite a lot of scorn on it, and we’re not at that stage yet from either side,” royal expert Duncan Larcombe told Fox News.

Larcombe said it would take “nothing short of a miracle” for father and son to come together and repair their relationship.

“Feelings between Prince William and Prince Harry are still running so strong that I think King Charles would think long and hard about going behind William’s back and trying to make peace with Harry,” he said.

“I just don’t think that time has come yet. I’m not saying it never will. But I think we’re a long way off.”

Mr Larcombe claimed that whenever the royals finally agree to a sit-down, the Duchess of Sussex wouldn’t be part of the conversation. The former American actress became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry in 2018.

“If … they do have a summit, that will only happen on the basis that it’s in the strictest confidence and the details of that conversation would never go anywhere else,” Larcombe explained.

“I just don’t think that they would trust Meghan. … You can’t have a full and frank conversation with Harry and run the risk of it being broadcast in America soon after. That’s a trust thing.”

“The royals do not trust Meghan,” he said. “And I think they’ve already got quite a good reason not to trust her at this point.”

The Sussexes famously stepped away from the monarchy in 2020, initially moving to Canada before fleeing to the wealthy Californian enclave of Montecito just before the pandemic.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, they accused the Royal Family of racism. They then launched a six-part Netflix docuseries about their life together and Prince Harry released his controversial memoir, Spare.

Christopher Andersen, author of The King told Fox News with the couple’s history of airing grievances, the monarch is being cautious.

“The king has moved on,” said Mr Andersen. “He and Queen Camilla are harnessing the popularity of the royals they can most trust – Princess Anne, Prince Edward — but most of all, Prince William and Kate Middleton — to shore up the image of the monarchy.”

“King Charles hasn’t written off Harry entirely,” Mr Andersen added.

“I’m sure Charles would welcome his prodigal son back into the fold under the right circumstances. But as a practical matter, Charles has bigger fish to fry. He must address the fact that he does not have the same grassroots support that his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, had. His subjects would rather have William and Kate as their king and queen — and soon, not years from now. In the meantime, support for the institution of the monarchy itself is beginning to crumble.

“At the same time, Harry shows no sign of capitulating either. He has made an entirely new life for himself. The king would only agree to speak with Harry if Harry agreed to keep their conversations private. It would be completely out of character for Harry to agree to be muzzled now. He’s made it pretty clear over the last couple of years that he’s all about getting his side of the story out there, regardless of the consequences.”

Tensions between Prince Harry and his family have only deepened following the publication of his book in January where he bagged everyone from his father, his brother and his stepmother.
