Insider reveals exactly what’s in Meghan’s new Netflix show: ‘It’s all her’

Weeks out from the premiere, insiders who have seen the eight-part series have spilled secrets about what’s actually in it.

Fresh details about what Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show will actually be about have emerged, weeks out from its premiere date.

Aside from the official trailer, which dropped last month, little information has been released about With Love, Meghan, which is hosted by the Duchess of Sussex.

Rather than sharing recipes, as had been widely expected, the show reportedly won’t feature step-by-step guide, but will instead be more of a “how-to” in entertaining and being a good host or hostess.

Sources who have seen a preview of the eight-episode series opened up about it to the Daily Mail, describing it’s focus as being on “inspiration” – and also revealed that Prince Harry is “barely glimpsed” and “barely mentioned”.

“There is no point at which Meghan says ‘take 200 grams of flour’ or anything like that,” the insider said.

“It’s a very magical and beautiful guide to hosting and entertaining rather than a how-to cookery show. It’s about inspiration – more like, ‘Why not try and make this kind of pasta or this kind of dessert’. Harry isn’t in it.

“It’s all her, and all about her. It’s very watchable.”

The sources also confirmed that the couple’s children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, don’t appear in the series.

With Love, Meghan will premiere on March 4 on Netflix, having been postponed from its original mid-January release date amid the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Netflix has promoted the show as helping to “create wonder in every moment”, and says it “blends practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old”.

The glossy series will feature Meghan hosting some of her famous friends, including Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer.

The duchess and her team at Archewell Productions have produced With Love, Meghan as part of her and Harry’s megadeal with Netflix.

The rumoured $150 million contract is reportedly set to end this year. After a string of disappointing ratings and lacklustre reviews for their content, it’s been widely speculated that it won’t be renewed.

Adding fuel to the fire was a brutal swipe made at their expense by comedian John Mulaney while he was presenting at a recent high-profile Netflix preview event in LA.

“This is a really fun experiment. Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan,” he joked to the crowd.

Despite the savage dig, and a string of shows from the Sussexes that have struggled to find an audience, Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria insisted that they are “excited” for their upcoming projects.

“We have Meghan’s new show coming out, which is great,” Ms Bajaria told the Daily Mail, in response to a question about the couple’s Netflix deal.

“It is such a great take on a lifestyle show and showcase for California, Montecito and nature. It really has great takeaways. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I want to really do that pasta.’

“There’s really easy great takeaways on life. I am really excited about that coming out.”

Her comments mark the first made on the record by a Netflix executive regarding the future of the couple’s contract.
