Endgame: Bombshell book claims King Charles rejected meeting with Prince Harry

Omid Scobie’s new royal book has revealed the excuse King Charles instructed an aide to use so he didn’t have to see his youngest son.

Meghan Markle accused not one but two royals of making 'racist' remarks

King Charles rejected a “desperate” request from Prince Harry beacuse he was “overworked”.

According to an explosive entry in British royal author Omid Scobie’s new book Endgame, Prince Harry wanted to meet in London earlier this year while he was visiting the UK.

But the King instructed an aide to tell his youngest son he was too busy to avoid meeting him.

Scobie wrote Prince Harry was told his father was “overworked”. The rejection came after months of tension and the pair barely speaking to each other, including during phone calls the previous Christmas.

Endgame will be released on Tuesday, but parts of it have been leaked to media and the book is being serialised in Paris Match.

One of the startling revelations is a fear among senior royals there could be more trouble coming concerning Prince Andrew.

The Duke of York, 63, was sued in the US in 2021 by Virginia Giuffre, who alleged she was forced by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to have sex with him on three occasions after being trafficked by the pair.

He has always strongly denied the claims and last year settled the claim and made a donation to a victim’s charity.

But Scobie said there was a “lingering threat” of more damaging revelations to emerge.

‘INFANTILISE’: PRINCESS OF WALES SMEARED IN ENDGAME

British royal author Omid Scobie has smeared Princess Catherine of Wales as “pliable” in the book Endgame and said that her achievements were exaggerated.

In an interview to promote his latest book on the royals, the author said: “The small achievements that we’ve seen from the Princess of Wales wouldn’t perhaps be noticed if it was from another member of the royal family, but with Kate it’s like ‘wow!’”

Scobie added that “we infantilise (Catherine) massively so the bar is always lower”.

In Scobie’s book the Princess is “portrayed as a woman terrified to do anything more than grinning photo ops”, according to The Sun.

His cruel swipe in Endgame – described by a friend of the Princess as “horribly unjust” – will no doubt infuriate the royal family.

In the book, Scobie claims Catherine and Meghan Markle last spoke four years ago, and that Catherine even “shudders and giggles” every time she hears Meghan’s name.

He also alleged that Harry and Meghan sent William and Kate’s three children gifts last Christmas – but did not even get a text in response.

Catherine, who is popular with the British public, is passionate about the causes closest to her, such as supporting families and early childcare.

Just days ago the royal was spotted helping out during a visit to a baby bank in north London. Sebby's Corner was formed in January 2021 to provide items to families in need across Barnet, Hertfordshire and London.

The Princess of Wales kickstarted a Christmas Grotto initiative from her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to provide support to families with young children in the run up to Christmas.

In Scobie’s book – due for release on Tuesday – Scobie has painted an unflattering portrait of Princess Catherine, claiming that she spent more time “talking about” her sister-in-law than actually spending time with her.

One extract states: “Their views, their outlooks, are very different, and I can see that becoming an issue over the years ahead.”

Scobie co-wrote Finding Freedom, the sympathetic bestseller about Harry and Meghan, and has been dubbed the couple’s “cheerleader-in-chief” but denies this.

WILLIAM, KATE FOUND SOUTH PARK EPISODE ‘HILARIOUS’

It comes as Scobie’s new book claims Prince William and Catherine revelled in the brutal South Park parody of Harry and Meghan.

According to passages from Scobie’s book leaked by The Sun newspaper, Catherine and William thought the viral South Park episode mocking the Sussexes was “hilarious”.

The long-running American cartoon mocked Harry, 39, and his 42-year-old Suits actor wife Meghan in an episode dubbed The Worldwide Privacy Tour in February.

In the much-lauded sketch, a fictional Prince and Princess of Canada deliver a thinly veiled reference to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with a plot line that sees the couple embark on a “worldwide privacy tour” holding signs reading “we want our privacy” and “stop looking at us.”

In the end, the fictional Prince leaves his wife discovering she was “empty” inside.

‘THAT FOOL’: CHARLES REACTION TO NETFLIX SHOW

Mr Scobie’s book, published in Australia on November 29, promises to lift the lid on King Charles’ anger over the Sussexes’ decision to sign a contract with Netflix.

Charles was reportedly fuming when he learned a deal had been struck and labelled his son “that fool,” the book claims.

The subtitle for the 400 page Endgame book is Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, and it claims the Prince of Wales is a “hot-headed” company man who is “increasingly comfortable with the Palace’s dirty tricks and the courtiers who dream them up”.

“William is increasingly comfortable with the Palace’s dirty tricks and the courtiers who dream them up,” Scobie, a former show business journalist, tells The Times newspaper, adding it is William who, through his loyal aides and press relationships, painted his younger brother as mentally fragile.

“The side of it that a lot of people don’t know, or within our industry have known but chosen not to report, is just how involved William has been in many of the things that have gone out about his own brother,” Scobie said.

ROYALS ‘IN A CRISIS’

Scobie has controversially claimed that the future of the royal family is “in a crisis”, as he promises to reveal more moments they will be “ashamed of” in his new book.

“That crisis being a lack of interest from young people, an apathy, a growing republican movement, questions over whether the family still uphold the morals and values of the crown that the Queen did such a great job of. But when you look at the cast of characters … it has been questionable,” he says.

He also claims there is a deepening rift between the King and his eldest son, who is in “heir mode”.

Prince William, 41, “knows his father’s reign is only transitional,” Mr Scobie says, “and is acting accordingly.”

“It would have been nice to see them come together on certain projects perhaps in the early years, to put on that united front, but they’re all working in silos,” Mr Scobie adds.

The book reportedly includes a painful episode that alleges William ignored Harry’s texts when the family were racing to reach Queen Elizabeth II in Balmoral in her final hours on September 8, 2022.

In a desperate state to see his grandmother, the Duke paid to charter a flight alone from Luton Airport to Aberdeen for £30,000; he found out his grandmother had died when a BBC News alert pinged on his phone.

Meghan “could sense she wasn’t wanted”, said a friend, and stayed behind at Frogmore Cottage.

The king comes under attack for his “pampered” life, including claims he demands his shoelaces to be ironed and travels with his own “perfectly steamed” bed linen.

“When laces get even the smallest bit threadbare, a staff member must quickly switch them out with a fresh, ironed pair,” a leaked excerpt claimed.

“There is even a rumour (one that, surprisingly, sources have confirmed) that Charles likes to have someone squeeze exactly one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush for him ahead of his bedtime routine.”
