Meghan Markle has used her sudden arrival back on social media to plug her new cooking show and says it’s about “connecting with new friends” and she “has to get it wrong to get it right”.
The Duchess of Sussex shared the official trailer of the eight-part Netflix series on her newly-active social media account called ‘Meghan’, which she first shared her first post on during New Year’s Day.
Netflix said the new “inspiring series” titled, ‘With Love, Meghan,’ has been produced by the Duchess and “she and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.
She tells viewers: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.
“Surprising people with moments that let people know I was really thinking of them”.
Prince Harry makes a fleeting appearance in the two-minute video – the pair can be seen hugging each other among footage of her cooking while she is laughing and smiling with friends, picking produce in her garden, extracting honey from beehives and shopping for flowers.
The new series follows on from the Duchess last year launching her business American Riviera Orchard which aimed to promote a range of foods and cookbooks but has yet to take off.
Her second social media post for the year on Instagram where she has 928,000 followers, comes just 24 hours after the Duchess shared a short video filmed by her husband of her running along the beach dressed in white clothing and then stopping to use her finger to write ‘2025’ in the wet sand.
The Duchess’ return to social media this year comes after a five-year hiatus and her sharing grievances that the online world was ‘almost unsurvivable’ after she said she suffered widespread online abuse.
Other guests to feature in the Netflix trailer include former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and American socialite Delfina Blaquier, the wife of polo player Nacho Figueras, who took part in the Sussexes’ 2024 Netflix series called Polo which focused on the lead up to the polo World Cup in Florida.
In 2022 Netflix released a three-part series called ‘Harry & Meghan’ which detailed their decision to abandon the UK and move to America after their falling out with members of the royal family.
In the same year the Sussexes’ also had an animated Netflix series called Pearl cancelled by the streaming giant.
The Sussexes spent Christmas last month in America and away from the royal family’s celebrations in the UK after a tough year for key family members including King Charles and Princess Catherine who both battled cancer.
The new Netflix series includes eight 33-minute episodes and will premiere on January 15.
