Sacha Baron Cohen hits back at Rebel Wilson accusation

British actor Sacha Baron Cohen has broken his silence after being accused of behaving poorly toward Rebel Wilson on set.

Sacha Baron Cohen has released a statement after being accused of being an “a**hole” in Rebel Wilson’s explosive new memoir.

“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby,” his representative told TMZ on Monday.

It came after Wilson identified him as the celebrity who she claims has been trying to block the release of her new memoir.

Wilson took to Instagram Stories to say that she would not be “bullied” or “silenced” before naming comedian Baron Cohen, husband of Aussie actress Isla Fisher as the “a**hole” she writes about in a chapter of her book.

The two comedians worked together on a movie called Grimsby, about a top spy who teams up with his football hooligan brother for a new assignment.

“I will not be bullied or silenced by high-priced lawyers or PR crisis managers,” wrote Wilson. “The a**hole that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sacha Baron Cohen.”

While filming the comedy movie in 2014, Wilson opened up about her experience filming with Cohen and hinted that it did not go entirely smoothly.

“Every single day he’s like, ‘Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?’ And I’m like, ‘No!’

“Sacha and I have the same agent in America and I’m like, ‘Sacha, I’m going to call our agent Sharon and tell her how much you are harassing me,” she told Kyle and Jackie O.

“Every day he’s like, ‘Just go naked, it will be funny. Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious.’

“On the last day I thought I’d obviously won the argument and he got a body double to do the naked scene.

Wilson continued: “Then in the last scene … he was like, ‘Rebel can you just stick your finger up my butt?’ And I went, ‘What do you mean Sacha? That’s not in the script.’“And he’s like, ‘Look, I’ll just pull down my pants, you just stick your finger up my butt, it’ll be a really funny bit.’”

Speaking about the chapter in her new book earlier this year, the Aussie comedian revealed that working with whom we know to be Cohen forced her to adopt a “no a**holes” policy going forward when it came to taking jobs.

“When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, ‘Yeah, I have a no-a**holes policy that means, like, I don’t work with a**holes’. I was like, ‘Yeah, I mean, that sounds sensible and logical.’”

She continued: “But then it really sunk in what they were meaning by that, older people in the industry. Because I worked with a massive a**hole, and, yeah, now I definitely have a a**holes policy. Chapter on said a**hole – it is chapter 23, that guy was a massive a**hole.”
