GWEN Stefani has filed for divorce from Gavin Rossdale after 13 years together.
The pair have three sons together: Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and 17-month-old Apollo.
They said in a joint statement: “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.”
TMZ reports that Stefani, who is seeking joint custody of the children, did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement before she wed Rossdale in 2002.
This could prove costly for the 45-year-old singer — the mega-selling artist is worth around $80 million.
Rossdale, 49, the frontman for rock band Bush, is worth around $30 million. He hit the headlines in 2004 when he discovered that he had fathered a child — successful British model Daisy Lowe — during his previous relationship with fashion designer Pearl Lowe.
Daisy took a DNA test to prove she was the London-born singer’s child after he initially denied paternity.
In 2010 he admitted to having an “experimental” fling with cross-dressing pop singer Peter Robinson, who was known as Marilyn, in the 1980s.
